Question about Marantz DV7600 Progressive Scan Universal DVD Player

Open Question

CPPM error code

I recently went into the menu system to open zone my DV7600.
It worked but now when the player is turned on it reads "CPPM ERR".
The player works but it's clearly not meant to display that message.
I have tried holding the stop button but it won't reset like the maunal says.
Anyone had this?
Thanks

    Hi there,

I have similar problem, when I turn on my Marantz DV7600 I get a message "EEP ERR". I recently was "treated" by my cousin to him unlocking it so that it will play all regions, I live in Europe and it was a Region 1 DVD player.

I would be able to put up with this however whilst playing a song, usually the 2nd or 3rd that I am playing, it seems to crash, for want of a better description. The play speed goes slow then fast and it seems to die a death!

I have tried to contact Marantz on numerous occassions to find out what the message means and best case, that they give me the correct coding to get it back to Region 1 as there wasnt a problem!!

If anyone knows what the problem is or a way for me to get it back to region 1, when it was working perfectly, please let me know

    Hi 993man,
I got the same problem. It is now one year later, and I was wondering if you have a solution? Can you please tell me?

*A menu will appear with several options. Choose Option 2 and then Option 4.

This error occurs while installing the firmware update in the player. Hence, try resetting the player and check if it helps.
Turn Off the player and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation.

Sony BDP-BX2 blu-ray disk player "SYS ERR" error message

This worked for me, from a Sony Tech.
    1) When SYS ERR is displayed turn off the player by holding down the power button until tghe unit turns off. 2) Unplug the power cord. 3) Wait a minute or so and plug the player back in. This reset the player for me.

I want the code to play Zone 2 DVDs on my DVD which is set for 4

    1) Turn on the player with no disc in the tray
    2) Press the Open/Close button to open the tray
    3) Press the info button, the firmware version shows up (
    4) After the version info disappears, close the tray again by pressing the Open/Close button
    5) At this point, it will show "no disc" at the top. Press the Info button again, and this will disappear. If the "no disc" does not disappear then try again by using the REPEAT button
    6) Now type the code that applies for your region (R2 is 57538). A '2' will briefly show up at the top left corner
    7) Now press 9, and 9 will show up in the top left corner
    8) Power off the player, and turn it on again. You'll have a multi region player

I've found the following codes at the 1080P7 hack:
    R1 - 29334
    R2 - 57538
    R3 - 56732
    R4 - 76884
    R5 - 53814
    R6 - 24462
This worked on my dvd1080p9 R2 DVD player

    Unlock zone code

I managed to unlock my DVD player with a solution I found on videohelp.com. I quote the solution:

I made my new RDR-HX750 code free with this Remote Controll program on my old iPAQ:

    http://rapidshare.com/files/12586334/RC1_825.rar

    Just follow these steps:
Turn player to DVD mode and switch off player (standby) with NO DVD inserted
    Press 1 on NoviiRemote
    Press 2 on NoviiRemote
    Press 3 on NoviiRemote
    Press 4 on NoviiRemote
    Press 5 on NoviiRemote
    Player turns on
    Press 1 on NoviiRemote
    Press 2 on NoviiRemote
    Press 3 on NoviiRemote
    Press 4 on NoviiRemote
    Press 5 on NoviiRemote
Player shows "T:imer OK" on the display and turns off
Turn player on again, after that you can verify your firmware setting:
    1. System Menu
    2. Settings
    3. Audio output
    4. Dolby output
    5. Just mark "Dolby Digital"
    6. Press Angle button

If successful your code region should be "14"

The first problem is to find an old PDA with infrared (Irda) since the newer models no longer use Infrared. The PDA also needs to have windows mobile. I managed to get hold of one via my dad.

I downloaded the program via the link above; after some trial and error, I managed to install the NoviiRemote program.

After installing boot up the Noviiremote progra. You have to select the "sony 0" codebase; don't worry, it's easy to find after you booted up the program on your PDA and it comes with the download. You will see a screen with 5 digits: 1 2 3 4 5.

    After this, the instructions say:

    press 1 2 3 4 5; the player turns on.

Instead of what the instructions say, when I did this, my player did NOT turn on. I turned it on manually, then continued with the procedure. I pressed 1 2 3 4 5 and the display indeed said: t:imer ok. I don't know if it is necessary to press the digits before turning the DVD player on, but hey, who cares, since eventually it worked.

After this I went on following the instructions: turn on the dvdplayer, press the system menu button on the remote, go to settings, go to audio output, go to dolby output and highlight/select/mark "dolby digital". Then I pressed the angle button as mentioned. You see a "secret" textbox where your region should be displayed as 14. I tried to play my region 1 DVDs and voila, to my own surprise it worked!

I don't know who made the codebase for the Noviiremote program, but I am very thankful. I hope this helps more people!
