Use of crescent key above escape key in model HP 5187-7583 Silver Multimedia Keyboard With Media Player

The crescent key is for the computer to go night night!
Look under power settings in control panel this could be a key that can be reprogrammed. Usually out of the box it will but the computer into sleep mode.

For some key boarda the "Fn" key and crescent both need to be depressed.

Shaking the mouse or hitting space bar will wake up the computer.

Hope this helps?

Multimedia keyboard on function keys. Functions work with a key "Function" How to change "Multimedia keys first" on "Function keys first" ???

You can change the settings by going to BIOS. To go to BIOS, restart the system and as soon as you restart, start tapping the <F2> key located on the keyboard. This will take you to BIOS.
You can use the Function Key Behavior setting in the System Setup (BIOS) utility to configure the media control keys. The options in the Function Key Behaviour setting are:
Multimedia Key First - This is the default option. Press any multimedia key directly. For function key, press <Fn> + the required function key.
Function Key First - Press any function key directly. For multimedia key, press <Fn> + the required multimedia key.
