The Cd you are trying to copy may be damaged, take it out clean it and try again, if that doesn't work check that the media you are trying to copy is compatible with the source discs, wouldn't be the first person to try copying a CD onto DVDs or vice versa, an easy mistake i've done this myself
Check on the BIOS option and try to boot in SATA Mode instead of the AHCI that comes by default some motherboard are not capable to run windows 7 on AHCI Mode. Hopes this helps you. Best regards Luis!
Try locating the hard drive - its usually under a cover that can be unscrewed check that the drive has not become dislodged try unplugging it then plugging it back in .
when a "disk read error" occurs, it's most probably the disk that crashed. you can try and repair the disk by booting from a bootable cd or USB-stick with diagnostic functions, such as UBCD4win, which can be downloaded for free. UBCD has many functions to check disks for consistency. if this does not help you, then i'm afraid that you will have to replace the disk with a new one. however, it may still be possible to retrieve data from the disk, if you connect it to a pc using a usb-to-ata bridge. the program i use for data retrieval is file scavenger.
would check to make sure both DVD cable and ribbon are firmly locked in but before your send it away call Microsoft and get them to trouble shoot with you and it sounds to me like its UN likely you will be able to fix it.
I would recommend that you take the console to a game store and get them to have a look at it, it sounds like there might be a fault with the CD drive or the laser not reading the discs properly
Look at the floppy disk using Windows Explorer. You should see something to the effect of menu1, menu2, menu3 menu4 and one or two files with a file extension of something like .mhv or .phv . Inside the menu folders, you will find the .shv files.
Just writing the .vip or .hus to the floppy will not work.
Keep me posted and I'll try to come up with something more.
