T.V. TURNING OFF AFTER ABOUT 5 MINUTES.

A few days ago, my t.v. went off by itself. I turned it back on and it worked just fine. A few days later it happened again . I turned it back on and 5 minutes later it went off again. I unplugged the set for a couple of minutes and plugged it back in and has worked for the last ten minutes.

I have the same problem but a much greater scale. It turns off irregularly, sometimes after just a few seconds of being on and others after hours of being on. The problem just keeps getting worse. In the past 10 minutes it has turned off 7 times.

Same here. It happened a lot, then stopped happening for a few months. Then it started again and last night it turned of 7 times within 15 minutes. I finally got tired of it and walked away. What it the problem?

I have the same problem but, I have been watching the front panel LEDs and believe that the issue is caused by the Lamp cover sensor. I have removed the cover and reseated the cables. The sensor is a small printed circuit card with an arm that the cover holds down.

I have a similar problem. The set has been turning itself off intermittently for several months, but has always ended up staying on. Today, it will shut off the video and audio after about 10 seconds, then restore the audio for another 10 seconds, then completely shut off. I get two green and one red LED's blinking once the set has shut itself off.

Go to Samsung.com for solution. There is a switch that just needs to be repositioned behind access door on rear. Fixed my HL-S5086W ok.

Check and make sure your fans are working and there is sufficiant cooling to the back of the set. Sounds like it is overheating and going into protection mode.

Thats a common symptom which is usually caused by the Small signal board. You can get a replacement small signal board from www.tvrepairworld.com

TV shuts itself off after a couple minutes of being on.

One must be very careful of the quality of the replacement lamp. Many of the cheap 'deals' on the web for replacement lamps are substandard. I always recommend that replacement bulbs be the original manufacturers bulb.

TV wont turn on, makes buzzing noise and shuts off

I have two RCA HD52W59 TV's. I have had one for 3 years and one 4 years. The one I have had for 4 years is giving me the problem. Last week the tv turned off while watching it. It wouldnt come right back on. 10 minutes later we tried and it worked fine. the other night the kids were watching and it turned off and smelled like something burning. I tried turning it right back on and got no power at all. I tried to turn it on two days later and it made a buzzing noise and the green light went out. Never did get a picture, no powering up on the screen. Any ideas? Don't want to spend alot of money. Really loved the TV hope it isnt junk now. Better yet I hope the same thing doesnt happen to the other one I have.

5 red blinks = lamp driver or ballast failure.
we610 part # = 1-468-798-14

replacement is straightforward when you unplug the set and open the back up. remove the metal support bracket to expose the ballast. make sure to keep all wires routed as you found them.

Tv cuts off and green light flashes

Yup, it seems a lamp problem can give a blinking green light over the 10 times (1 - 10 times for diagnostic codes), but in my case rather than replace the bulb if it works for a minute then resets with the green light blinking, do what I did.
Take the lamp out and inspect it, it has breather screens top and bottom, if it cant breath because there clogged with dust, clean them, and you can remove the screens, use q-tips and clean the inside. I saved the cost of a lamp and it's working fine!

Checkerboard display.

checkboard pattern is generated internally by the light or optical engine.. when the signal is blocked from the signal board. the optic engine generates these test patterns. rolling piture also indicates a signal board problems.
