When
I push a button on the remote (JER 321) the power button goes red but nothing happens to the TV. The signals are not being sent/recieved. I sat on it for a second and that might be what caused the problem.
What can i do to fix it?

I had the same problem-- again, after sitting on it for a minute or so. I think what happened is I un-saved the code for my television. I found these instructions to re-code the remote, and by following them, fixed the problem-- I now have a fully functioning remote control. Hope this works for you, too!
1.Manually turn on the component you want the remote to control.
2.Press and hold the component key (TV, VCR, Etc..) you wish to program. The illuminated ON-OFF key turns and remains on.
3.While holding the component key down, press and hold the ON-OFF key. The illuminated ON-OFF key turns off.
4.After holding down both keys for three seconds, the illuminated ON-OFF key turns back on.
5.Release both keys. The illuminated ON-OFF key remains on.
6.Press and release the ON-OFF key repeatedly until your component turns off. Wait four seconds between each keypress. Each time you press the ON-OFF key, the illuminated ON-OFF key blinks and the next code in the list is sent. This process continues until all of the codes in the Code lists have been searched. If your component turns off, you have found the correct code.
7.Once you have found the correct code, you must save the new code by pressing and releasing the STOP key. The illuminated ON-OFF key turns off. You must press the STOP key to save the code or the correct code will not be stored.

Molly,
First lets figure out if the remote is send or not.. Do you have a web cam? If so bring-up the cam on your screen so you can see yourself on the computer.. Now poin the remote at the cam lens and start pressing buttons. If you see a light on the screen eminating from the remote the remote is functioning...
Only other way might be have it tested at a local radio shack. They used to have cards for that - don't know if they still do - but wouldn't hurt to ask..
Let me know what you find and we'll go from there..
