Question about Olympus Camedia C-750 Ultra Zoom Digital Camera

1 Answer

Settings memory Whenever I change the batteries, the system settings revert back to their default settings. I'm assuming that there must be a small battery somewhere in the camera. Do you know what disassembly procedure I must follow to get to that battery?

There is no other battery for your settings, as indicated by the manual if you leave your camera for more then 1 hour without batteries (or dead batteries) you will loose all you settings.

Unfortunately is the way this camera works.

The only other thing that you would like to verify is the following setting but should not be your case because if ON it should revert to the factory setting every time you turn power off.

Hi, the flash setting on my Vivitar Vivicam 8025 camera won't stay on what I select. It always goes back to "no flash" when I set it to have flash or no red eye flash. Please help! Thanks!

Remove the battery AND the memory card.
Then reinsert both starting with the memory card FIRST.
Doing this, the camera will keep its settings while you take pictures but will revert back to its default settings as soon as the camera is turned off, or if you going into playback mode, etc.

This is a little frustrating for us but since the camera is for our 7 year old, she's not really concerned much. Hopr that helps you!

I need basic set up as my daughter has been using it and seems to have changed the settings, i have had the camera 5 years or so and always had it on the basic settings

Pull battery and the memory coin-type battery out of the camera, wait a few minutes and reinstall.
It should go back to default settings.

Hi I have a new

.The settings will be saved if you entered and give OK

Once the main battery is removed for an extended period of time, the time and date settings will be reset to the default setting, and an icon will start flashing in your LCD monitor to notify you that the time and date has been reset.
Through the eye view finder you can see the settings detail.

Camera loses settings when switched off

There is a small battery that is soldered onto one of the printed circuit boards in the camera. There is a procedure that someone posted on the web (I think I originally found the link on dpreview.net) and information on the battery itself. The procedure took maybe an hour from start to finish and afterwards the camera would keep it's settings just like when it was new.

Factory default reversion

Sounds like you have a poor connection to the batteries. If you take the batteries out, the settings all revert. Clean off the metal pieces which connect to the batteries with a dry abrasive substance. Good luck.

If you take the batteries out, the settings all revert. If you leave it open too long while changing the batteries, they revert. You might also be developing a poor connection to the batteries. IClean off the metal pieces which connect to the batteries with a dry abrasive substance. Good luck.

Reversion to defaault settings

I read that if you hold the memory button down it resets the camera to factory settings. Could you be doing this inadvertently? Probably not your answer, but it's worth a shot?

Camera works with comp but not with batteries

Leave the battery out for at least an hour. The camera will return to default settings when the "memory" is cleared after the reserve power in the camera runs down. When you put the battery back in you'll be asked to set the time/date again. It'll also revert to 1MP so you'll need to change your settings too. if it doesnt help, send it to repair - it looks like a switch malfunctioning...
