Go to trendmicro.com and run their free online virus scan. It can take a couple of hours to run and you must be connected to the internet.

Hello drea_mike67,

There may be any number of storage device faults causing the no disk exception error message. For instance, a usb device may have been removed without choosing the 'safely remove hardware' option. If that's the case then reconnect the usb device and choose 'safely remove hardware' (bottom right hand corner of your PC screen), and then remove the USB device.

If the error message still comes up then try using the device manager in the windows control panel like this:

•Opening the Control Panel
The Windows Control Panel can be opened by:
Selecting *Start > Control Panel (on Windows Vista)
- OR -
Start > Run > Type 'Control' and select OK (on Windows XP)

In the Control Panel, do the following:
•Select System
•Select the Hardware tab
•Select Device Manager
•Look for disk drives or other drives that are not used or recognized...
•Right click the device(s) and select uninstall

If this solution is helpful please click 'YES' by 'Was this helpful?' below.

Have a great day,

Error message

"UPDATE - summary added, history moved to end: This problem seems to be caused either by malware (virus or spyware etc), or by software following a Windows update or some other software installation or uninstallation (particularly HP, Norton or QuickTime software) trying to check for removable media that isn't there (e.g. disc in DVD drive or card in card reader), when it shouldn't be doing that check."
