Question about Adobe Photoshop 7.0 for PC

Swf gets cutted on IE

Hi everyone, on this website: http://wailupe.goodandevilcreative.com/main-summary.html

when you open that page on any browser(Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Opera, etc..) the swf shows great. However in Internet Explorer there is a problem. When you open the page in Internet explorer the swf file looks good, but if you click on a link on that page to go to another page and then click the Back button of the browser to go back to that page, the swf gets cutted. This only happens in Internet explorer. Can anyone tell me what I need to do in order to fix this issue?

Games in those sites are essentially flash files, so google "how to download flash files", one of the top results if you have mozilla: http://labnol.blogspot.com/2005/11/save-flash-from-firefox-and-ie.html , tried and tested i can say with confidence it works. You'll still have to run the .swf files with a browser though unless you have Flash Professional installed. So... download .swf > right click > open with > internet explorer/mozilla/chrome/safari/whatever

How to add SWF and FLV to your Blogger Weblog using HTML

If you have a YouTube Account then this is easy just follow the embed button after you have uploaded your media

There is at the moment no easy way to do this however if you have the SWF or FLV hosted at another site then you can embed it using these codes

This example shows an embedded shockwave flash banner called valentines_animation.swf that has been uploaded to www.amarasoftware.com and then macromedia flash player is called to play it from the plugins page

da385d8.jpg

All you need to do is copy and paste this HTML and but it into your blog to test to see if it works.

If you want to have a go at creating your own and want to upload it yourself and then use it on your blog then either download the trail version HERE to see what the software has to offer of create one for yourself using Adobe Photoshop and Image Ready check out my FLASH tip on how to do this

If you have created a SWF you can upload it to a FREE SWF server then check out k-directors blog that will tell you where to upload it.

EXAMPLE 1
Register for an imageshack account the same people who run yfrog
Using ImageShack Uploader you can upload suitable SWF to your online account.

The formats are supported:
  • avi ** - audio video interleave (Xvid,DivX)
  • flv - adobe flash
  • mov - quicktime or sorenson
  • mp4 - mpeg4 (Xvid,DivX)
  • wmv - windows media video
  • 3gp - 3rd Generation standard used on mobiles
  • mkv - matroska used on DivXHD
  • m4v - high quality H264
  • swf - shockwave flash
  • pdf - adobe portable document format
** so if you have an mpg4, divx, xvid rename the file extension to avi

Open the uploader and sign in with your imageshack account details and then drag and drop OR browser for you video media if you use the batch tagger and select if the media is PUBLIC or PRIVATE

e282727.jpg

When uploaded then all you need to do is to click the get code for website this is the same for a weblog

e474756.jpg

Then copy and paste the embed code to your blog notice that imageshacks own flvplayer will be used as opposed to the macromedia version in the example above.

a24edba.jpg

EXAMPLE 2

If you use this HTML code to embed your SWF you will still need to use an image hosting website you will need to replace the file_url and the width and height with the URL that the image host gives you and the exact pixel measurements

e43f6f2.jpg

This method is best used on hosting sites that don't give you the HTML code automatically I prefer the first example for ease , The next example is only for advanced users and is normally used on websites not blogs but if you know how it can still be used with Wordpress powered blogs.

EXAMPLE 3

Using SWFCabin to upload your SWF it will give you a URL where your object has been stored this is an example using a banner from the Internet Download Manager website for advertising and earning 20% of the sale of there software if the link originates from your website.

http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1277814412

With this URL code you will then require a method of posting or embedding the SWF into your site the easiest way to do this is using Javascript as in the example shown above.

On way you can do this is to use SWFObject v2.0 now hosted on Google pages details of how to do this is from deconcepts blog where the earlier versions are still hosted.

This is a more complicated method an should not be attempted by just a beginner, it is essentially written in Javascript and is used to embed Adobe FLV and SWF into websites

Is macromedia flash player necessary for opening of html files?

It's not necessary to have Flash to open an HTML file, that's the browser's job. But if there's Flash content on the page, it won't play without Flash installed. You'll probably see a placeholder image where the content would be displayed, and may see an error message.

Not sure exactly what you are after, some options;
You may have to select convert to swf rather than flv as a setting try a few changes with a very short clip.
>swf creater - free - http://www.onlyfreewares.com/Audio-Video/Video-Converters/Free-AVI-to-SWF-Converter.php
or
You can embed that flv clip in html
<object classid="clsid:D27CDB6E-AE6D-11CF-96B8-444553540000" id="obj1" codebase="http://download.macromedia.com/pub/shockwave/cabs/ flash/swflash.cab#version=6,0,40,0" border="0" width="600" height="420"><param name="movie" value="http://www.thetalenttribe.com/intro.flv"><param name="loop" value="False"><param name="quality" value="High"><embed src="http://www.thetalenttribe.com/intro.flv" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" name="obj1" width="600" height="420"></object>
Save this in a note pad / text editor as upload.html put in the public area / htdocs of your server and change the www.address to were the .flv file is. Email www.youraddress.com/upload.html to your clients or web viewers click link hey presto.

or it can be viewed as a download with adobe media player

MACRO MEDIA FLASH PLAYER WHICH SUPPORT SWF FILES IN WINDOW VISTA AS IT SWF FILES ARE NOT BEING SUPPORTING IN VISTA AND SO ALSO ANY SWF FILES CONVERTOR...PLZ REVERT ME BACK IN MAIL ID TO SOLVE THIS...

I came accross this fix.
It worked for Firefox 3.0.3 ,I.E. 8 Beta 2, Opera 9.52, and Google Chrome Dev Release: 0.3.154.0.

Here's the scenario: you download the latest and greatest version of the Adobe Flash Player. After it finishes installing, you go to a site featuring Flash content and are greeted with a message notifying you that you need to install Flash Player, but didn't you just do that? To properly update your Flash Player, you need to run the installation as Administrator. Follow these steps to properly install Adobe Flash Player:

For Vista (32 bit):

1. Open Computer.

2. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\.

3. Scroll down and open the Macromed directory.

4. Open the Flash directory.

5. Right-click FlashUtil9x where x is some letter.

6. Select Run as Administrator.

7. When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.

8. Follow the Flash Player installation wizard.

For Vista (64 bit):

1. Open Computer.

2. Navigate to C:\Windows\SysWOW64\.

3. Scroll down and open the Macromed directory.

4. Open the Flash directory.

5. Right-click FlashUtil9x where x is some letter.

6. Select Run as Administrator.

7. When the UAC prompt appears, select Continue.

8. Follow the Flash Player installation wizard.

You should be able to download and install Flashplayer 10 (now by Adobe): http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
and if it still won't work correctly, apply this fix: http://thetechangel.com/blogberry/2008/10/adobe-flash-player-10-fix-for-vista-xp/
Finally, a forum where other Vista users discuss the problems they've had.. http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=184&enterthread=y&forumid=44&threadid=1243464

A converter: http://www.sothinkmedia.com/swf-to-video/?gclid=CO72_4X7wJkCFRo-awodAVFAuw
or freeware: http://majorgeeks.com/google_search.html?cx=partner-pub-6960825562757852%3Aecswas-url5&cof=FORID%3A11&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=convert+.swf#0

That ought to sort it out, one way or another. If you need any further assistance, please post back and I'll be happy to guide you through the process.
If this solves your problem, please take a moment to rate this post.
Thanks, and good luck!
