There are no short cuts to auto temp control. To bypass you would need to change the wiring harness and control panel to mod to a lower end washer.
To do that would cost big bucks.

Go to hardware store and buy a water splitter and install from cold water line to both hot and cold water valves behind washer. your washer will fill twice as fast and you will be her hero.

sorry, i wasn't paying attention. i assume that your not able to obtain a straight hot final rinse. it's standard that final rinse is normally cold. i don't know of anyway to get around this.

My new estate washer with 4 water selections actually only has 2, hot and cold. The warm water setting fills with lukewarm water for a while then shoots in cold water for a while and back and forth. In the...

Yes, this is normal. All newer washer have auto temp control fills. This is to meet energy saving requirements. The less hot water used the more energy saved. Most hot settings on washers give out basically lukewarm water. The detergent made today is made to work well with cooler temperature water, so things will still come out clean.

Whirlpool washing machine...only uses hot water

Make sure the hoses are connected correctly to the water valve on the machine. The connections will be marked with an "H" and a "C".

Given they are correct, most current washing machines have and auto temp feature on the water fill. It allows even cold water settings to bring in some hot water to make sure the water temp is hot enough to efficiently disolve your laundry detergant. The preset temps are usually around 75* for cold, and 105* for warm. Hot water comes in at whatever temp your household water temp is.

Cold water starts and stops when washing

sounds like your washer has an auto temp. control if so the washer mesures the temp of the water and put in the manufacture set temp for that setting this board could be bad alowing only cold water to come into the machine. you could also have low hot water pressure at the washer be sure the hot water is turned all the way on. you may want to check to make sure no trash is in the hot water side of the water valve there is a screen in there where the hose conects you can remove that screen and clean it im sure one of these solutions will help you

Maytag washer

It sounds like you have the hot and cold water lines to the washer reversed.  Try turning off the tap for the hot water then setting the washer to just cold wash and then  hot washif you get nothing on the cold and cold water when set to hot they are probably reversed.  Typically if the auto-temp control is broken you will only get hot or cold coming out on any setting.

Temperature Control Problem

is washer less than a year old? if so call reapir ..there was an issue with the temp controls on a small number of those machines they use an electronic control in what looks like a mechanical switch..if over a yr old could still be a temp switch but be sure hoses are connected correctly and on a rinse cycle the water does come in hot ..don't worry too much about wash cycles temp is controlled to to prset temps and is based on final water temp in tub after fill not incoming water temp
