Replacement lamp for Samsung HLN437WXIXAA DLP TV

We've had out TV for several years and the picture seems very dark. We're thinking that it is time to replace the lamp and want to make sure we get the right one. We have the HLN437WXIXAA model and want to make sure that the lamp identified for the HLN437W will work....don't want to order it and then find it doesn't fit.

Also, someone told us that when we replace the lamp we should have someone tune up the mirrors....does that make sense?

SOURCE: DLP TV Samsung HLP4674w No Picture

If you hear a ticking and or buzzing sound as it is trying to start up then most likely the replacement lamp is bad. Take it out and reseat it one more time to see what happens. The noise you hear is the ballast attempting to fire the lamp up.

SOURCE: Samsung 50" DLP - Lamp Light Blinking after bulb replacement

Listen closely. The tv should make a high pitch whine as it turns on. If it does wait and see if it tries this a few times. If yes then check the bulb, I have seen cases where the lamp shoves the power connector back into the set. If the tv starts with a grown or heavy vibration noise, then your color wheel may have broken and needs replaced.

Dark picture on lg dlp tv

Did you use a generic replacement? Many TVs have a dark picture after replacing the original lamp with a generic. The other issue I've encountered are TVs that have been exposed to cigarette smoke will develop a dark, discolored picture over a relatively short time.
