Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repair professionals here in the US.
click here to Talk to a Technician (only for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

Not booting. Could be bad mo bo, cmos, peripheral, power supply, memory, etc.

Take the power supply and use it with another known working computer. If it works, then the problemo lies with your mo bo. Replace it with the gateway part number for the mo bo and ignore the other stuff. If you can do a "repair" operation with your OS you might be able to avoid reloading the OS and all of your programs all over again and save lots of time and aggravation. Can do with XP, maybe with Win 7.

My hp 7060n won't pwr on. I checked the ps it test

I don't think you know what you are doing. No computer will boot without memory! And no mo bo will work without the 4 pin connector being attached to mo bo along with the 20/24 pin mo bo connector..
Listen, keep it simple and just plug in another known working ps to see if unit works. If it still does not work, then your issue could be corrupt bios, bad hard drive, corrupt OS, bogus peripheral, bad memory.

try like this..(cause they went out of mo bo business and there are no downloads available..)
keep in mind the pins numbered like this ..

where 1 is the edge left of the board
and the wiring wil be ..
1 HD+
3 HD-
2 msg led +(powe/slp)
4 msg led - ...........
5 restart -
7 restart +
6 power +
8 power -

Gateway MX6956 screen flashes when dc adapter plugged in...hard t

The jack is soldered to the mo bo. If that is the only thing wrong all you have to do is open up the unit carefully, get access to the mo bo, resolder it and reassemble everything. A real PIA job but do able. Good luck

Connections

You will need to post your motherboard manufacturer and model, as these are in different places on different motherboards.
