The touchpad is inactive - either its driver got corrupted or it was taken offline somehow - fix that. Simple test: use an external USB mouse, it should work immediately after reboot.

Dell inspirion n5030 laptop

Are you using the touchpad, or a regular mouse plugged into the laptop. If you are using the touchpad on the laptop, make sure it is enabled. There is a button to the right of the F12 key to enable/disable the touchpad. If you are using an external mouse connected to the laptop, try restarting the computer by pressing the power button once (that will initiate a shut down).

Frozen pointer on my laptop , carnt even log in

Most likely problem is the connector on the mousepad. try and use a USB mouse first to eliminate the mousepad from the equation. if the pointer moves with a mouse then you have solved the problem. If it doesn't you have a bigger problem- either Virus infection or Operating System failure.

Touch screen stopped workimg

Hi
The CF-30 is equipped with a resistive touchpad. It is designed to be more rugged and last longer than a capacitive touchpad. Applying pressure and keeping your finger on the pad longer while you move your pointer will help with speed. Pointer speed can also be adjusted under mouse properties in the Control Panel.

Find the complete model number on the bottom of your laptop 'CF-30XXXXXXX' and locate the correct driver by following the link below. Once you've downloaded the correct driver, extract the file to a new folder and run the Ftsetup file. (accept all default settings). You may need to restart the Toughbook.

Blue screen and aleatory restart. I have a SONY VAIO VGN_NS135E with Vista Home Premium. Memories checked - ok Hard disk checked - ok (tried with another one)

Hi,

If you've tried to use your harddisk to another computer and it didn't restart nor got a BSOD, the motherboard may be failing. I have seen some laptops doing the same thing and it was corrected by replacing the motherboard. However, try to reload the BIOS default settings and reinsert the memories if you have not tried it yet (since you have not indicated if you reseated it or just ran a diagnostic check).

Hope this helps.
