COBRA DC6550 Cobra DC 6550 i JUST PURCHASED THIS CAMERA WHEN i GO TO SNAP A PICTURE ITS SO DARK i CANT FIGURE OUT IF IM EVEN TAKING A GOOD PICTURE , IS THERE SOME WAY TO ADJUST THE LIGHTING ON IT FOR INDOORS SO YOU CAN SEE WHAT YOU TAKING? I have had the same problems and did the same things the others did and I like the size of it and how simple it is but I hate not being able to see what I am taking a pic of and also how do you get it to save time and date. I always have to do all of that befor I can snap a shot that I want it on. I always have to set the flash to auto and I am not really happy with it now that I have it. My daughter has a cobra digital camera and it has alot of things on it I know I will never use so my husband got me this one because it was simple to use but now we don't like it because it is a pain to use!!!!!!!

Try this then let me know how you get on ok just remember what settings you change so to change them back if it dont make things better it should but best to be sure ok here they are:
    1. make sure battery is fully charged
    2. rotate knob to manual
    3. press function set
    4. navigate down select awb
    5. then press navigate right
    6. then select whatever light your using inside like bulb for bulb then press function set
    7. use also 100 iso
    8. metering number set to 0
    9. colors set to colors off
remember what you change the settings from even write them down for future referance so you can change them back if needed
Also when you take pictures with this camera they seem darker on the lcd screen but when you connect camera to computer they seem to view fine on the computer screen and they print out as you expect them to they print fine but im just lookin now if you can adjust the contrast on the lcd screen itself as this seems to be the main problem ok.
Have a go at what i told you then let me know if it helped just remember what the settings where before you changed them ok best to write them down have a go let me know speak soon ok

We need to be sure of some things:

Are you saving the picture to the internal flash memory or an external SD card?

1) The internal memory will only hold 16MB of pictures, check if it's full.

2) The external SD memory can only be up to 1GB in size, anything bigger will not be recognized by the camera
1. Make sure the SD card is not "locked". Some SD cards have a little switch to prevent them to be written into.
2. SD card should be formatted by the camera preferably or as the FAT format in your PC.

Does this help you in any way?
Please give us more information as to how you are saving them and/or any further questions you may have.

Good luck!
