You only have a USB connection. Traditional turntables cannot be simply connected. Get a USB turntable and you are all set.

I 'm looking for a panasonic manual so I can get a new needle and cartridge for a model #SL850 turntable. Thanks for your help

No manual necessary for finding one. Search engine "panasonic sl 850 turntable cartridge". eBay has a lot.

The stylus itself is the usual part that wears out or gets damaged.

All the arm does whenever I try to play a record is move across the record. This even happens with a brand new needle. I'm ready to get a new turntable.

there is a counter balance on the side of the arm called an anti skating weight.it prevents the grooves on the record from pushing the stylus inward, wearing out one side.when the anti skate weight system has a fault,it drags the arm toward the center of the record faster than needed.there is also a weight on the back of the arm.that is the balance.when set to zero, the arm should balance.then the weight is turned to 1 gram or so.if there is not enough force downward, the anti skate mechanism will drag the arm inward.

Cd turntable does not turn without jarring the whole unit - therefore, cd's do not play

Sounds like the little motor inside the cd turntable keeps sticking, i have seen electronic motor do that from time to time, it might be worth having a go at pinching the side around the motor to try to loosen it a bit or completly changing it out.

Turntable connection

you can not connect a turn table in any other input source other than Phono input my friend. turntable has got very weak signal thathas to be pre-amplified before getting a signal just right for a CD/Tape DVD input. you require a phono am to get an audio signal.

No sound from turntable bought for our hi fi system

Hi,

Most if not all turntables would need to be connected to a PHONO INput which is high impedance with a high gain pre-amplifier stage. It will not work when connected to an AUX, CD or any line level inputs. Alternately, if your amp does not have any Phono Inputs, you can feed the turntable output to a preamp which can then be connected to any any line level inputs. An example may be found here or here. Additionally, there are some turntables with a built-in preamp.

Hope this be of help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
