Question about Fuji FinePix E550 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Resolution Do you know how to change the resolution for photos? The last time I sent photos to Shutterfly, they told me that the resolution was not high enough to print photos. Can this have changed since I bought the camera? This used to work fine.

Look in the setup screen. Its accessible through the blue F button on the back. Easy cheesy. If shutterfly is getting smaller resolution pics than you are shooting, then your Email client is automatically resizing your pictures to speed up the transfer, you need to turn that feature off.

The photos on the frame aapear

You may have to change the screen resolution on the frame if it can be changed. Some frames do not allow a change in this way. If you cannot change the resolution then try changing the size and resolution of the photo's on your camera. You may have to change things several times until you find the best fit. Refer to the manual for the frame on how to change the frames display size and resolution..

How can I take high resolution photos on my Panasonic Lumix DMC FS15. I sent some photos to Costco to have them made into posters and was told that I needed a higher resolution photo to make a good clear...

All cameras have multiple settings for picture quality. For example if you email a lot of pictures select a lower resolution. If you have "poster" size prints made select the highest resolution you camera will do.
Go into your cameras set up and select the highest resolution you have. should be about 12MP.
You have a high quality print with that.

Poor Resolution

e sure the quality setting is the highest - 7 megapixels. Otherwise, why buy a 7MP if you shoot at 3MP. The Canon 750 seems to have excellent picture quality where the Olympus has soft focusing (reviews at C-net).

Too low of a resolution???

If this is a new camera, read the setup in the manual and set the camera for higher resolution.
If you don't have the manual there are places on the net to find free user manuals, and even Canon.com.
The menu settings should be easy to find and figure out.

Poor resolution when using internet sites

There is no setting on the camera. I would recommend checking to see what resolution your online site has set for max resolution. Also, make sure that you are not just downloading thumbnails to your computer instead of the actual image file. I really recommend using Microsoft camera scanner wizard to save pictures into a my pictures folder. Have never had any trouble with that program. Hope that helps.

Kodak z730 resolution issues

It sounds to me that for whatever reason, you might be trying to export the thumbnail copy of the picture. On a 5MP you are right its more than enough to develop in sizes up to an 11 x 14.

However (I'm not too familiar with the Mac software, my apologies) if you are exporting or saving the thumbnail to your card, they will save at a far smaller size, and would lead to your pixellation problems, and the reason why the pictures are not coming out okay.

Minolta Dimage S414 Problem with resulution

What you are seeing is the difference between "pixel count resolution" and "embedded resolution". So in your example 2272*1704 is the actual pixel count resolution as recorded by the camera & 72 is the embedded resolution that tells the software (in this case photoshop) what the intended use of the picture will be. 72 ppi is the default for web pictures. You can change this in photoshop by going to the "Image" tab & select image size. The window that opens will show you the pixel dimensions i.e. pixel count resolution and the document size & resolution 72. You just change it to 300 for printing. You can change the default to 300 by going "edit", "preferences", "units & rulers" and setting the values for "new document preset resolutions". This is a complex subject, I recommend looking at the following web page: http://www.fotofinish.com/resources/centers/photo/resolution.htm
