Games don't load, just goes to a white screen

When I power on my DS lite, the main menu comes up, but if I go to play a game, it just goes to a white screen (sometimes black) then nothing happens.

How screwed am I?

I don't have warranty, so I wouldn't mind opening it up if necessary.

My son has a nintendo ds lite and when ever I insert any game it will not play the game. It comes to the main screen where it has the clock as well as the calendar. Does not matter what game it is, can you...

When you get to that screen, there should be a menu option for the game that you just tap to start the game. Look for a menu option on that screen that looks like the name of the Game Card you have inserted.
If you want to skip that screen, set the Nintendo DS to AUTO START the game.
To set auto startup, see http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/dslite/hookups.jsp#auto

How to i get to play two players on the Nintendo ds lite

You can play multiplayer games with a Nintendo DS Lite even if you don’t possess a copy of the game. If one of your friends has a multiplayer game card, they can use their Nintendo DS Lite as a host for the game session and you can join the multiplayer game.
jQuery('.intro .thumbnail').each(function(i,e){ jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); }); });
Things You'll Need:
  • Nintendo DS Lite
    Using One Card to Host the Game
  1. Step 1 Look on the game’s packaging for the "Multiplayer" icon. If the game requires only one player to have a copy of the game, the icon will show two DS Lites: a DS Lite with a black screen transmitting waves to a DS Lite with a white screen. Below the two DS Lites is a range of numbers which indicates how many players the game can support.
  2. Step 2 Put the game card in the Nintendo DS Lite that is acting as the host for the multiplayer game session and start it up.
  3. Step 3 Have the other players turn on their systems. They will use the main menu screen to access the "DS Download Play" icon. They need to tap the icon to begin downloading the game information from the host DS Lite.
  4. Step 4 Begin playing when all of the systems have finished downloading the game information from the host.
  5. Multiple Cards for Multiple Players
  6. Step 1 Look at the "Multiplayer" icon. If every player in the game session needs a copy of the game in order to play, the icon will show two DS Lites, both with black screens, transmitting waves toward each other. A range of numbers is under this graphic and indicates how many people can play at one time.
  7. Step 2 Read the game's instruction manual on how to set up the game session. The steps required vary by company and sometimes by title within the same company.

Nintendo DS lite power light comes on but both screens stay dark?

When you boot the Nintendo DS you can change the illumination settings in the main menu.
One the main menu, you will find a sunny symbol in the lower left corner of the screen. Click on that and you should be able to change the level of illumination. If you are also wondering if you can change the brightness during game play, you can't. Games such as Mario 64 DS come with support for brightness change but otherwise you have to do it before game play.

Blank white screen

Try using some alcohol to clean the contacts of the card and leave some on and reinsert a few times - leave to evaporate and try again - sounds like dirty contacts!

DS not going to the menu but straight to the game. This annoying

When turning your NDS ON press the select button a while and the main menu must appear instead the game.

To disable the Auto Mode go to:
Settings
Options
Start-Up
Manual Mode: if you would like the main menu screen to appear or;
Auto Mode: if you would like for the game cartridge to run when you turn on your DS.

Anyway at this time you know how to access the main menu screen in auto mode so if you like the game to load instantly then let the setting in auto mode and access the menu only when needed.

Good Luck...

PD: I am not Daniel, dont even know him XD...

Thing goes to game instead of the menu bar when DS game is in.

you can set the ds to auto load the game from the options menu, so turn off the system take out the game cards (both DS and advance games) and then turn on your system, that should cause your system to start displaying the pictochat/ ds download play screen at the bottom of this you will see a ds pic tap that and you can get into your settings and change them from auto to manual.

Hope that helps ;)
