Autocad file cannot be opened, how can I open it?

Use the autosave files to recover your work
1. Go to Tools --> Options
2. Inside Options go to the "Files" Tab (far left)
3. Inside the files tab go to: "Automatic Save File Location" and see where the autosave files are stored. (mine where stored at C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Local Settings\Temp)
4. Then access that folder and try to find a file with the same file name but different extension. (The autosave files should have a either a .BAK or a .SV$ extension) (if you can't see the folder, you need to go to Tools --> folder Options --> View --> and Make sure "show hidden files and folders" is SELECTED) .
5. Check the "date modified" of those files, if the date and time makes sense according to when you had the last file crshes, there is a good chance that those files contain the information you need, so there is no need to redraw everything.
6. Change the file extension of the file you think it might be the good one from .bak or .sv$ to .dwg (to be able to change the file extension you need to be able to see it. To do that, on any folder go to Tools --> Folder Options --> View --> and make sure that "Hide extensions for known file types" is UNCHECKED)
7. Use third party software in case the guide about wasnt effective

How to rip a DVD easily

DVDs contain folders and files which are specially developed for DVD players and not for computers.<br /> If you explore the DVD on your computer, you see on most DVDs the folders Video_TS and Audio_TS. The folder Audio_TS is on video DVDs empty. This folders is normally used for audio DVDs.<br /> If you open the folder Video_TS you see that the extensions of the files in it are .vob, .ifo and .bup. The .vob files are actually the .mpeg or video files and only these files contain video. The .ifo files contain information like scenes and time. The .bup files are backup files of the .ifo files. These files aren't relevant for computers.<br /> If you double click a .vob file and you do not have any DVD player installed on your computer, the computer says that it can not open the file. But there is a trick to do let your computer play this file.<br /> The trick to play this file is to copy the .vob files to a folder on your hard drive. The next thing you need to do is to change the file extension into .mpg.<br /> Do not change the name of the file but be sure you change the extension of it!<br /> If you copy the .vob file and you change the extension in .mpg, there is no guarantee that it works. This depends on the codecs you have installed on your computer. But often this trick will work.<br /> So what is the solution if the above doesn't work? The following I will show you <a href="http://www.freedvdripper.org/dvdvideoguide/how-to-rip-a-dvd.html">how to rip a dvd</a>.<br /> Step 1: Download <a href="http://www.freedvdripper.org/">best free dvd ripper</a> and running it. click "Add". It supplies four ways to load files:<br /> Step 2: Select output Profile<br /> You can select one output format you want to rip a DVD as below.<br /> Step 3: Edit the Video<br /> If you want to customize the video, Wondersahre DVD Ripper offers a powerful video editing function, including cropping video, setting the video effects, trimming movie, even customizing personal watermark.<br /> Step 4: Start to rip a DVD<br /> After you select the output format and edit the video(option), all you need to do is clicking the "Start" button. Then you can get a cup of coffee and come back later to check if the conversion is finished. Furthermore, this DVD Ripper even offers the option to automaticlly shut down the computer when the conversion completed.<br /> Now, you must get the idear how to rip a dvd. I have several excel files stored on my system. I used these files from the same computer daily. Yesterday, when i tried to open several files in Excel 2007 then i found following error on my co,puter...

  • Navigate to the folder containing the XLSX file you want to repair.
  • Right-click the file and select "Copy" and then right-click on a blank space within the folder and select "Paste." This action generates a backup copy of the corrupted file.
  • Open Microsoft Excel 2007 or later.
  • Click the "Office" button in the top left corner of the window and select "Open."
  • Navigate to the folder containing the copy of the XLSX file you generated previously and select it by single-clicking its icon.
  • Click the arrow located to the right of the "Open" button and select "Open and Repair."
  • Select "Repair." If you previously attempted this method and the process failed, try to extract only the values and formulas by selecting "Extract Data" instead. Regardless of the method you choose, your data will appear on the screen within a few seconds if the process completes successfully.

Could you please tell me, what does DCIM in my sony ipod mean? how can i use that or when do i use that? please

Yes, that is the access to you picture files.

    From WIKI:

Design rule for Camera File system (DCF) is a JEITA specification (number CP-3461) which defines a file format and file system for digital cameras, including the directory structure, file naming method, character set, file format, and metadata format. It is currently the de facto industry standard for digital still cameras. The file format of DCF is based on the Exif 2.2 specification.
The latest version of the standard is v 2.3.
The filesystem in a digital camera contains a DCIM (Digital Camera images) directory which contains possibly multiple subdirectories with names such as "123ABCDE", which consist of a unique directory number (in the range 100...999) and five alphanumeric characters, which may be freely chosen and often refer to a camera maker. These directories contain files with names such as "ABCD1234.JPG", which consist of four alphanumeric characters (often "DSC_" or "IMG_"), followed by a number. The file extension is "JPG" for Exif files and "THM" for Exif files that represent thumbnails. Other file formats use different extensions. Multiple files sharing a number (even if the file extension or the four alphanumeric characters are different) are considered related and form a DCF object.
For example, the files on a Nikon D40 are arranged according to the above specification. Thus, a card formatted by the camera will have a partition named "NIKOND40", with a subdirectory named "DCIM". This directory contains a subdirectory named by default "100NCD40", in which images are stored. images are named "DSC_xxxx", where xxxx represents the file's sequential number.
As this is an industry standard, similar directory structures and naming procedures can be found in most digital cameras.
[edit] AccessCamera file systems can usually be accessed by directly mounting them via the USB mass storage device class protocol, which exposes the file layout, whether DCF compliant or otherwise. Alternatively, and independent of DCF, files may be accessed via the Picture Transfer Protocol, which provides an object-oriented view and need not expose the file layout.
The file system layout is often opaque to users, as images are copied onto a computer or printer and the application deals with layout

My foldders file extension got changed automatically

Can you still open it? Are you talking about a file extension, or a folder name? Folders themselves don't have extensions...

Maybe you should just make a copy of it, then try to rename the folder name/file extension to whatever it was before, then try to open it.

    Virus infecting microsoft programs

Its the W32/Rungbu-A virus, it infects Microsoft Word DOC files by copying itself to the same filename but with an .SCR extension, appending the DOC file to the SCR copy, and then hiding the original DOC file.

The W32/Rungbu-A then sets the computer not to show hidden files (in order to hide the DOC file), to give SCR files a Word icon (so the SCR file looks like a Word file), and to hide file extensions (so the SCR file just displays the filename, not the SCR extension). When the SCR file is run, the Word document is displayed as normal.

To recover your .DOC files just follow these steps:

You have to delete all files detected as W32/Rungbu-A.

Set the following registry entries in order to show extensions and hidden files:

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
    HideFileExt
    0

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\HideFileExt
    UncheckedValue
    0

    HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced
    ShowSuperHidden
    1

    HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\SuperHidden
    UncheckedValue
    1

You must change the attributes of the original .DOC files to stop them being hidden.

My answer to your second question, is in November of 2007 the .SCR file extension started to be used to transmit a Trojan. As a script or a screen saver this file can execute other files which carry the Trojan. The SCR file may be embedded within a ZIP file which could also contain a file with a double extension. Many Windows screen savers come with a .SCR extension by default. Usually these will be found in the Windows main directory. Use caution if you receive a screen saver file via E-mail. These files can contain executable code and can be worms or viruses. Note: This file type can become infected and should be carefully scanned if someone sends you a file with this extension.
