Question about Zenith E44W46LCD 44" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Volume lowers while I am watching this TV, the volume, on its own, goes way down. It makes a noise first, then goes down. When it does this, the remote doesn't work to adjust the volume, you have to do it with the bottons on the TV. But, most of the time, if you shut the TV off, and turn it back on, it works again. There are times that you turn the TV off, and back on and it still doesn't work with the remote. The remote still operates all other functions.

Usually there is a loud pop followed by a reduction in volume. If one has the patience to wait, the volume will return to its normal level in a matter of seconds. Of course this pop usually occurs at a point in whatever you happen to be watching is in a critical moment, so I generally turn up the volume and then reduce it as it goes back to normal.

    2. TV pops then sound geos down and back up in a few seconds.

Replace digital board. A hardware update is available that might solve it.

Check all of your audio and video connections to make sure they are seated(connected properly). After doing so,if you still have the popping sound try lowering the volume and see if the popping noise lessens or gets worse. If the noise goes away then you may have a problem with the speakers, either in the tv or in an external sound system if one is connected.

I have a constant ringing sound coming from the tv. It goes up and down as I increase or lower the volume by remote. As I change the audio option to "Spanish", regular "English" audio comes out on c

The fact it shows on tuner and not DVD means not likely a audio problem--check all audio settings in the set's menu AND if you are using a box for signal look there--has to be a setting.

Some JVC sets (brand indicated here) also had issues with when watching the background audio (like a sporting event) was louder than the people talking and could be interpreted as ringing--This is a setting in the set called something like "Theater" or "Hall"

Has to almost certainly be a setting in the set.

Hi, Mary with Dish Network Customer Service. I had this issue with my TV as well. You will need to turn the TV volume up and the cable volume down. The opposite way from how you have it now. This should resolve your issue.

Hello, normally this buzzing sound comes from the power supply, before you go out and replace the power supply for this noise try to lower the backlight, this might make a difference in the noise but also be very aware that your TV might be a little darker than before.

Buzzing noise when turning on the volume.

Only recourse is to replace the main cba. I would probably try ShopJimmy.com for the module because "IF" you could get one from Visio it would be anywhere between $200 - 300.

Vizio speakers make a buzzing noise

It's not the speakers. I usually hear of this problem when hooked up to an HD cable box. You can adjust the volume on the cable box and also on the TV. I'll bet you don't have this problem when watching a DVD.

If the problem is what I think it is, your HD Cable box is set at a really low volume while your TV is set to a rather high volume. Try setting the TV volume to around one-third, then set the volume on the cable box until it's as loud as you'd ever want to hear it. With the TV at such a high volume, you're actually amplifying any stray electronic signals that the wires might be picking up, and the above solution will fix that.

Good Luck.

Tv volume goes down of its own accord

Hi,

Some dust in the button to lower the volume on your TV or on your remote control might be causing it to think it's being pressed. Try playing around with it, pressing it hard so as to relieve it of any pressure on the inside.

Whining noise

The problem i had was when i would play my tv. I had it hooked from my dish to the sony then the tv. When i played a dvd,cd or the tuner it didn't make that noise. It seems my video/audio 2 channel was going bad. I disconnected my rca jacks and used the optical audio connection. The noise stopped and i got a better quality sound.

hope this helps
