Only one key fob works, the 2nd does not. i have changed the batteries. It is a TVSS 111B. When i bought car last week, a Rav 4 1997 the 2nd fob had no battery in it but i have put new battery in and still no led light on any other response from it. please help

FOB H3LL been there too many times.
first off the fob batteries must be good. inside fob.
battery put in backwards has no chance ever.
never have just one working fob key on any car
or land here. x
off to the locksmith you go or they to you.
my fobs died here about 8 years old (new to now)
2 new once died, here just last week, 8 years old
1st the bottom switches inside gold wore off. dead.
no cure ever for that, !
2nd fob when berserk and has unlock command transmitted endlessly and its switch is shorted for ever. no fix for that. again.
and all failed every year for coin cell. every one.
never have just 1, or costs can go super high.
mine cost me $75 to make 3 new keys.(programmed)
(had new keys in hand me)
that is my advice, and how to be proactive

and cars mostly have key that can open doors. even a key hiding in the fob.
or valet key?
the fob has a battery too on most fobs. a coin cell
lost the users guide? in the glove box.

try both fobs cars come with 2 never just 1,
some have valet keys too.
most have a fob battery .
12 year old fob coin cells are EOL this old end of life where present,.

please take the key fob to your nearest advanced autoparts and ask them to pull out the battery for you. Then, you can test the key fob with the new battery. If it works, then your fob is fine. But if not, you would need to order a new key fob for your car.

start by scanning vehicle for trouble code --fixing battery issue --resetting or reprogramming fob/security system

There's an antenna for the transponder receiver built into the key surround on the 9-5, it could have had a knock or be faulty.

On the 9-5 if the transponder stops working and you get a key not accepted message then you can override it by pushing the unlock button on the key remote with the ignition turned to on and it should let you start the car.

Hi. Is this with both keys? If so then I suspect there is an issue with the immobilser. I suggest a trip to the agents.

replace the battery again. I have bought several replacement batteries that were bad. Also make sure it is in correctly.
