Question about Panasonic KX-TG6073S Trio Cordless Phone

1 Answer

Line in use

I have TG6073S with two additional handsets and have used if satisfactorily for about 4 months. A recent power failure that lasted for 4 hours seems to have caused a problem. During the power outage the phones, as expected, did not work. After the power was back on the phones were still out and I assumed until I checked the interface box that the phone service was out. The interface connection had a dial tone, but the Pan phones did not. I unplugged the Pan phones and connected a wired phone and it worked. Checked a couple of other wireless phones and they worked. When the Pan phones are plugged back into the system, they indicate a "line in use" message and nothing works. Could something as simple as a power outage have wrecked this phone system. After unplugging and clearing the messages, I plugged the phones back in and there is no message displayed. An attempt to dial a number using the phonebook results in a "line in use" message that can only be cleared by completely diconnecting the phones.

Hi this problem is more common than you think its caused by the power surge you get when the electric is turned back on you also get this problem due to lightning strike their is absolutely nothing you can do to repair the phone as their are no servicable parts and the chances of getting a new board for the base is going to be nigh on impossible

If not a few of the parts on the circuit board are fried most of them probably are you cant get these repaired its just not financially worth it and no electrical repair shop will even take them in to look at as the parts on the board are only fitted by machine as they are to difficult to fit by hand im sorry i couldnt give you good news but anybody will tell you the same that you just cant get them repaired. It time to replace them you could sell the extra handsets or even try buying new base unit off an auction site you can pick them up cheap the extra phones should be all right as its usually only the base unit the gets fried as this has the main board inside the extra phones only plug into mains for charging their is no recieving signal or sending signal board inside this is done from the extra phones themselves so these will be fine.
If you need further assistance let me know ok

Where can I get additional push pins?? Also disappointed that the Intermatic timer 1101 stopped working 13 months after it was purchased. Just 1 month over warranty. Should last longer than the 4 months...

Yeah, I have seen tons of these units fail early. Usually someone stripped the gears.
Another approach, in terms of lighting control, is use dusk to dawn or timed motion sensors. They are always "on time" where the clock needs to be changed many times over the course of season changes, etc. They do not need to be reset after power failure or daylight savings, they just always work/
In a commercial building, interior lights should be on 24/7 OR motion sensors, and external lights Dusk to dawn.
In residential, motion with duration timer systems seem to work the best. Replace the Intermatic. Even the digital Intermatic requires user intervention all the time.

I have a GE 25922 5.6GHz cordless phone. It has 3 receiver. 1 of the receiver all ways says unavailble and it does not ring or can't call out. Can you help me with phone? Thank you, Sai.

UNAVAILABLE Indicates the handset is out of range. Or an additional handset is in use. Or there has been a base power failure, in which case you must place all handsets on the main base cradle for 20 seconds to re-register.

Just bought an additional handset for GE 27951 expandable 6.0 DECT Cordless. I press and hold the Page button for 5 seconds but the new handset will not register. Error keeps occurring "no base."

This exact thing happened to me. Same model number. No matter what I did, the new handsets would not register.

The solution? Reset the entire system:
1. On the BASE - Unplug from wall both power and phone line. Unplug battery from base handset.
2. ON the Extension phone - unplug from wall and unplug battery from handset.
3. Wait AT LEAST 5 minutes.
4. Plug back in BASE power.
5. Plug back in BASE phone line.
6. Plug back in EXTENSION handset battery. Don't plug in BASE handset yet.
7. Follow steps to program EXTENSION. When successful:
8. Plug back in BASE handset battery.

I contacted GE today and they told me how to get the caller ID to work on the additional handsets. You must follow these steps in the exact order given.

#1 - unplug the base phone
#2 - unplug the telephone line from the base phone
#3 - remove the battery packs from the phones
#4 - wait 10 minutes.

reverse the order when assembling. Put battery packs in phones, put the telephone line back in the base phone and lastly plug all phones back in. It takes about another 10 minutes after that before all phones start recognizing caller ID but it now works fine.
