Question about Sony KDF-E42A10 42 in. LCD Television
Here's a picture of the problem, it's always there. I put a channel with snow to make it easier to see the red stripe. Just started in the last few days, doesn't matter if I have a DVD input or cable. The stripe is about 1" thick. The rest of the picture looks sharp and bright, so I'm thinking it's not a lamp problem.
Tried to call Sony, they said to unplug the TV 5 minutes and plug it back in to the wall (no power strip). I tried that, had no effect.
Any help would be great!
This is a failure within the optics block. The optics block will have to be replaced. Contact Sony and complain and they will most likely refer you to an auth. service center and I know they will work with you on the cost of repair. I have had experience with Sony paying from 100% to 75% for this repair.
