Sony 55wf655 I have a sony 55WFD655 that needs a replacment bulb. I have heard that replacing it is not difficult. However the instrustion manual doesn't contain any instructions on this task. Where can I find a step by step instruction manual to replace the bulb myself?

Probably just a burned out bulb or a disconnected wire. Try taking it to a Radioshack and see if they can take out the bulb for a replacement. Shouldn't be that difficult to replace.
Go to www.hmaservice.com and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle... You'll need a small screwdriver
Lamp inside TV is broken and requires replacement. Pop sound was its breaking sound. Lamp replacement procedure is written in user manual, pretty easy. Please buy Sony original lamp for TV safety and avoid aftermarket/ cheap lamp. Let me know if you need to download user manual copy. Thanks.

I bought a True replacement from the PartsStore through Amazon.com and it cost me about $185, but it was a Phillips bulb and the full cartridge replacement. I went with the aftermarket bulb only replacement the first time, lasted less than a week and haven't resolved that issue yet.
It's not too bad to replace just the bulb but rather more difficult to find just the bulb on it's own. The guys at lumenarc.co.uk should be able to give you just the bulb. As a start, you might want to have a look at this video:
