Question about Philips DVP642 DVD Player
Our Philips DVP642 has worked perfectly for over a year now it refuses to recognize any type of disc. The initial blue background appears and then the no disc message appears on the front panel. Any suggestions are appreciated
Clean the disks as well as possible with cleaner and soft cloth. the problem is not the disks, but the fact that the DVD reader has become really sensitive.
if that wont help, open up the case (screws on sides and back), and clean the DVD mechanism and lens as best as possible.
you still might be SOL, but its worth a try since its out of warranty, and a replacement player is $60.
