Re: Machine Frozen with boxes where text should be?
Just had this fault.
You will need to check the 3volt battery on the control board(make sure it is not leaking)
If it appears ok try a cmos clear.
You will need to connect JP11 this is next to the battery(jumper normally open).
Once connected power up the unit, then switch off, remove the jumper, switch on,cross your fingers and test.
If it still is faulty it will be the control board.

Strange. If the onboard computer has stopped working, first thing to try is a reboot -- the trick being, right now you can't shut it off. No matter. If the plug is inaccessible, go to your breaker box and shut it off at the breaker. Wait a minute, turn it back on, and see if it boots up correctly after that.
If you don't hear a click 3 times your building up fine ground coffee inside the box that the door works. Your ground is probably to fine and you are using a shiney bean which has more oils in it. Your big dial inside the bean hopper should be on 10-12 and the small knob should be turned down to the neutral position. You might for the first try turn the big dial up to 16 and see if it will work. If it doesn't your going to have to clean the grinder. This is what grinding to fine does. It cakes the grounds.
Had exact same problem (same two buttons worked). One of two button connection ribbons (wires) had disconnected inside the electronic box in machine. Simple was is to remove the top, open electronic box, reconnect grey ribbon (back left for me), and electronic tape onto connectors. Just did this, all worked for me.
If it is what it sounds like to me I had this same problem with a split pipe on my saeco vienna machine. The place tried to say I had not descaled the machine 4 times in under a year leading to the pipe bursting. This is what wrecked my machine but it could be a simple case of a hose blew off. Sounds like an internal fuse also blew. It should really be check out and should or could still work again once dry.
