How to secure my line

Its probably not necessary to use anything higher than standard 64 bit wep encryption, which is usually the defaults for most wireless routers especially a d-link. You just have to access your router and click over to the wireless section and enable or check the enable option. To get there you will need to connect your computer with an ethernet cable directly, next open up a browser and go up to the address bar and blank it out, type in 192.168.1.1, if that does not work change it to 192.168.0.1 and hit enter, at this point it will require username and password, default is usually admin and admin. At this point just read and follow directions.

You need to disable the dhcp server on the access point. This will conflict with the bt router since it too has a dhcp server. Hope this helps

Kolay gelsin.Good By

DLink Wireless Extender

  1. move the router,
the router can be anywhere, as long as it is connected to the modem
  2. reorient the antenna,
its surprising just how much difference changing the antenna direction has.
  3. ensure the router is broadcasting at 100% power in the router settings page
might not solve the problem, but have worked in the past
