Question about IBM RSA II ADAPTER (59P299802USA)

Open Question

Live configuration of RSA II cards.

I've got a handfull of IBM xSeries 366 servers which have RSA capability but the rsa board was not setup when the servers were commissioned. I want to start using RSA on these servers but these are production servers and I cannot shut them down. I tried plugging the RSA boards to my network to see if it would pick up a DHCP address but there is no activity whatsoever. It seems like the RSA card are disabled. How can I reanable the cards to configure them without taking down my servers?

Usb RSA securID when plug into the usb port, windows 7 says "finding drivers and then errors out with "Unable to find smart card driver"

This pop up only occurs with older versions of the RSA software. Customers should download the latest version of RSA Authentication Client from RSA.com. bres can obtain the SD800 smart card driver -- which is Windows 7 certified -- directly from RSA, but it is not available through Windows Update.

The SecurID "token" from RSA, the security division of EMC, is a two-factor strong authentication mechanism (something you know, plus something you hold). In tandem with a RSA authentication server, a SecurID is used to ID trusted users for firewalls and other restricted networked applications. (It is not itself a firewall.)

RSA's SD800 is a hybrid hand-held authenticator. The SD800 displays a series of one-time passwords, which change every 60 seconds, on a small LCD, but it also has a USB plug that allows it to directly connect to an accessible USB port to offer the full functionality of a smartcard. These include an automated SecurID exchange, cert-based authentication, an array of classic PKI crypto functions, and supplementary key and credential storage.

These are complex services, and they require a sophisticated setup.

The SD800 is intended for Enterprise rather than consumer use. Since the driver must be properly configured by an Enterprise to work in its environment, the SD800 is designed to be installed manually or pushed out by an Enterprise using SMS (along with its complementary GPOs, group policy objects).

The quick solution here is for an Enterprise admin to go back to the vendor, RSA, for the right stuff.

Batteries in keyfob are dead got new ones, how do you reset for a citreon saxo

From what I understand of the RSA Secure log on is that when the unit goes "dead", the connection to the server is lost. In order to restore the connection you will have to call a Helpdesk and have them refresh the server to "find" your keyfob.

IBM xSeries 360 Server support Win 2003?

The good news is IBM says it will work, the BIOS might require an upgrade. I would consult ibm.com and get the latest updates for your hardware after that insert CD and reboot!
Have Fun.

How do i get a IBM Xseries server to recognize a serverraid card

IBM Serverguide will most likely get you going again. Go this link:
http://www-947.ibm.com/systems/support/supportsite.wss/docdisplay?lndocid=SERV-GUIDE&brandind=5000008. You can download the ISO image for the version of Serverguide that will let you configure your system. If you have a Xseries 360 version 7.2.03 should work.

I hope this helps. Good luck!
