Should my acer laptop have a microphone built in, if so how do I activate it.

Double click on the speaker on your system tray.
a new screen will appear.
click on options and search for microphone on the list.
click to enable the mic and then you can adjust the volume.

to check if you have a mic, look near the keyboard. there should be a small hole. try and speak from there. if not then you have to buy an external.

First you will have to check to see if it is there. right click on my computer and click on manage. once there click on device manager and see if the audio is installed without and marks on it. If so you can go to the speaker on the right hand corner and right click it. go to properties or to sound and do a sound test on your speakers and your mic .
