I suggest you make sure that you are running the latest diplay drivers for your GTS 450. You can get them at the Nvidia download center here.
Just select the following from the drop-down boxes. Product Type: GeForce Product Series: GeForce 400 Series Product: GeForce GTS 450
Operating System: Your current operating system. Language: The language that you want the setup to be in.
Then click the search button.
Click download on the next page. Once downloaded, run the setup and it will install the driver. You will need to restart to finish the process.
this appears to be related in the BIOS. try to update the BIOS and disable the onboard video card from there if an option is available, then install the video card again and install the latest video driver for it compatible with your operating system
The NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 series of video cards is a good balance of affordable and high performance at about $150 each. Check out this PNY piece at newegg: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133266
Nahh...you can use that gpu with that mobo, but i wouldent recomend it. The GPU - Requires NVIDIA HybridPower™- enabled motherboard, and that mobo dosent have that. It might work but you cant use the full power of that gpu on that mobo. And beside that, that gpu is bigger then the mobo itself
I sugest you to buy another mobo, the gpu you looking at is a good one but your mobo isent that good.
imondeau, do you still have you're manual for the ASUS A8N-SLI Premium? Please turn to page 2-12 & 2-13.
Need the manual? Click the link below & download it. http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?modelname=A8N-SLI%20Premium&SLanguage=en-us
The QVL; Qualified Venders List, shows all the tested memory for this board. Edge memory is not supported. This is why the Edge memory only runs by it's self. Once you add the corsair memory they clash because they are not compatible working together in this Asus board. Both sets of memory could work in another board. (Maybe)! What is also needed is if the corsair & edge DIMMs are SS = Single sided or DS = Double sided. How many chips on the corsair? How many chips on the Edge?
They must have the same total chips each each DIMM.
I went through your bios manual three times & did not come across a setting that gives you the option as you listed above.
What I did come across & triple checked your Manual Pg. 2-28 section 14. Asus EZ selector card connector (144-pin SLI_CON. When using two PCIE SLI cards make sure the card is seated correctly & set for Dual Video Cards. (extreamly important). Pg. 4-34, section 4.4.9 SLI mode Recommend kepping to Auto. Than the Bios detects the setting of theSLI selector card.
Refering to the sentance above the manual recommends all settings be set to Auto. Your Bios will do the rest. If for unknown reason you no longer have your manual you can download it from Asus. You'll need to fill in the 3 windows under, Please Select the Product.

Any more question Drucos, please feel free to post back here!

If your CPU or memory were an issue your Asus board would sound off with BIOS beeps. Asus uses the Award BIOS & you can see what these beeps mean at the link below. Regaurding your PC not able to boot is an issue with your PCIE/PEG video card-in relationship with BIOS setting & the SLI switch card mode that came with your board. When running 1PEG video card you must set this in the BIOS to Auto & you need your SLI switch card connected in its slot. By default, the EZ Selector card is set for a single graphic card. When you install dual PCIE graphic cards on A8N-SLI series motherboards, please make sure EZ Selector card set to the Dual Video Card side and properly inserted. Will come in handy.
Reading the FAQ's at Asus site will help you better understand your A8N-SLI Deluxe. You'll need to fill in the, "Please Select the Product" first: http://support.asus.com/faq/faq.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
