Look on submerged riverbeds, on the seabed beneath jetties and boardwalks, at the bottom of mountain gullies or atop really difficult mountains (both next to dead climbers), and probably in camera shops which have been destroyed by fire, flood or earthquake. If you want to be really certain, then buy a new D2X and damage it yourself, it's the only way to be sure of getting one as damaged and inoperable as you require...

Alternatively just check the usual places like eBay, craigslist, gumtree and also at used camera dealers (particularly those selling to professionals) and also at repair outlets. The latter won't usually sell cheap though unless the camera is a total write-off as they'll want them for parts.

You could also ask on your local FreeCycle/Freegle groups.

Hopefully I've made you groan or grin and been helpful at the same time. Ultimately the answer depends upon whether you want a total wreck, a irreparable spares donor or simply an example which can be restored to working condition.

Help my Nickon D2x stopped working today in the middle of a shoot. I pointed it up at my subject with the sun behind their head and wondered if the sun caught the lens and effected the sensor??

Quite possible that the CCD- charge coupled device - which is the optical sensor was damaged by this direct exposure to the Sun. In some cases there can be a trip but need a check at the Nikon service. you can switch off remove battery and keep overnight to see if the camera resets.

How do i replace the shutter on my nikon d2x

If you're asking how to replace the shutter yourself, you need to rethink this. Shutter replacement is a complicated procedure and is best done by a certified Nikon repair facility.

The camera is probably in Auto Mode. Set it to manual and you can change your ISO, Shutter, and Apeture settings.

View Live Images?

You can't view live images on the monitor; the D2X does not have a Live View capability. A suitable version of Nikon Camera Control Pro may allow you to connect the D2X to a computer.

Gluing rubber cover on rear door of Nikon D2x

i have little faith that this can be done, as i tried doing it with epoxy - my favorite, never-fails adhesive - and it didn't work. i think if you can get your camera to Nikon, though, they'll replace the whole door with another whose rubber isn't likely to come off. i read someone online saying they took their D2x in for some other repair and Nikon replaced the door without even asking him...whether they did it for free, i don't know, but i'd hope so, since the rubber falling off in the first place is really their fault.
