Question about Dewalt DW746X 10" woodworker's table saw with rai

1 Answer

Router Repair Router mfg in 2001, but has about 2 hrs run time; first indication of problem was needing to wait to re-start after router ran for a bit; now router won't start. Local factory repair thought maybe needs new brushes. Odd in view of low use time. I'll take apart myself. What might be the more common causes of the router not starting? This model has an odd feature of waiting to re-start until the bit stops spinning in total. Is this maybe the problem? I have to question any possible loose wiring problems. Thanks, Vic

Unp[lugt the unit and remove the brushes then blow out the brush cavity and try it. If no fix, unplug it and remove the switch and bypass it by wiring direct being very careful as the high rpm generates lots of torque. Don't let the unit get away from you during this exercize. Next I would check to make sure the cord is not causiong the proper. The last thing would be to check the field wiring as a last ditch effort.

I need the owners manual for skil router model 1825

Many Skil tool manuals are available from the manufacturer here: https://www.skiltools.com/Parts-And-Service/Pages/Owners-Manuals-And-Parts-Lists.aspx . Select Routers and then scroll down to find the 1825. The direct link to the manual is currently http://mdm.boschwebservices.com/files/r00576v-1%20r19291v5.pdf .

I hope this helps.

The cutting disc on my makita 5806b spins anti clockwise causing damage if i cut laminate from the top and i need it to spin clockwise

You could turn the laminate over.
The proper tools would be either a router with an edge bit ( what I and most cabinet makers use ) or a low tech utility knife (carpet knife ) yep just a razor knife - really it works.

How to start honda deisel engine

Check the oil level, make sure there is enought in there. If there is a primer valve pump it 4-7 times, put the choke on and turn the main switch on and give it a pull. Depending on conditions and last time it ran you might have to play with the choke lever a little.

Hope this helps.

Saw has been sitting outside in the damp for some time. Don't think direct water has got to it. But, when plug it in, it will not run at all. Left saw at one of my rental houses.

Its likely a little rusty inside spray some electrical contact cleaner in it and with it unpuged spin the blade for a while see if it will run it should if it ran before . if that dosn't do it you will have take it apart and clean and then it should work again

What capacitor should be on a table saw motor

The part number you reference is a start capacitor. (details can be seen here: http://www.superioressex.com/uploadedFiles/Distribution/North_America/Essex_Brownell/Downloads/Linecards_and_Catalogs/capacitors_w.pdf )

It appears that the component capacitors (there are 2) are not available as separate parts from Delta. They only reference the motor itself (part 220 in the diagrams listed below.)

http://www.ereplacementparts.com/delta-36650-type-table-saw-parts-c-3275_3334_13634.html

At this point, I would try to locate another saw of the same model and read any numbers that may appear on the original capacitors on the motor. Please note the location and connections of each. There should be a run cap and a start cap on the motor.

The differences between a 47uFD and 20uFD caps are not an issue in this application.

Hi,my stihl ts400 wont start, theres a spark at the plug,I havent flooded it and theres very little compression when I put my finger over the spark plug hole when the plug is removed, can you help?...

Was this saw perhaps operated in a lean condition (metal transfer from the piston to cylinder wall)?
· Remove the spark plug wire and plug. Remove the muffler, hold a light at the plug hole and inspect the cylinder through the exhaust port. Is it smooth and shiny or does it appear speckled with dull gray spots or smears?
· Pull the starter slowly, inspect the piston as it rises and falls. Is it a dull gray without scratches and gouges?
· Hold the light at the exhaust port and look through the spark plug hole, inspect the cylinder above the exhaust port. Is it shiny and smooth or speckled with gray spots or smears?
Any spots or smears on the cylinder or deep scratches and gouges in the piston indicate the saw was operated in a lean condition. A repair estimate by your local Stihl saw shop should be considered. HTH
Lou
A few drops of 2-cycle oil in the cylinder before attempting to start it may allow you to get it running. A P&C will most likely be required for a long term repair.

Brand new miter saw/ran for 10 hours power was not consistent, then nothing

What part of the motor has blown? There is the armature and field coil and they won't always need replacing at the same time. There are brushes as-well, but as they are quite cheap I'm guessing you have been quoted on one or both of the motor parts to be replaced. Have you asked the repair guys for a report. They should be able to suggest a reason for what has blown and why by looking at the faulty parts. Although most manufacturers and service agents have discretion over warranty claims, if your machine is more than a few months over htere is almost definately noting you can do on the warranty side of things.
