Have you clean the whole dryer air duct?. try cleaning all the walls for lints and check the blower wheel. it could be filty with lint and decreases the airflow there by increasing the temperature too much to blow those limit fuses. you would not believe how much dirt and lint we collect on those ducts. check also the exhaust hose at the back, it could hinder the flow of air if its dirty. and too many turns. as much as possible, limit the turns of the hose.

Bad heating element or bad thermo fuse.
You will have to unplug the dryer and remove the back to access the heating element. The thermo fuse is located on the side of the heating element.
If you don't have a meter to test the element and thermo fuse or just don't know how simply remove them from the dryer and take them to your local appliance repair shop and they can test them for you.

Does thermal fuse burn out only because of temp.?

Possibly or the thermo fuse just went bad normally if the thermo-fuse blows its a venting problem warm moist air back builds into the dryer which in turn blows the thermo-fuse to save the dryer from further damage and also keeps from starting a fire in your home a big saftey feature that has saved many homes.

I pulled the fuse next to the thermistor on my HE3 but I cant tell if it is blown. Nothing is melted

you cant tell by looking at them.you will need an ohms meter to check them for continuity. Place the red lead to one of the spades and the black lead to the other spade. If you get any movement at all on the dial or gauge, the fuse is good.

My new Perfect Care Gas dryer stops with in a minute of running.

Check your thermo coupler (flame sensor). If it's new it should have a warranty I would think.

Dryer wont heat up on a aquarius VTD00, do you think its the element

A tumble dryer that isn't heating up at all needs checking with a continuity test meter. The most common cause is a heating element failure, or t.o.c's going open circuit. . Some tumble dryers have heating elements that are easily accessible by removing the back panel, and can be tested for continuity or checked for obvious breakage. Others though have their heating elements inside, which aren't accessible without stripping the dryer down. Tumble dryer heating elements are always protected by thermal fuses which are usually simple devices with 2 wires connected. They can be tested for continuity with a test meter. Also overloading and blocked filters can lead to thermo cut out, it is best to check your manual and call someone out on this occasion. You may even have a red reset button on the rear of your machine some models do, if yours doesnt then call out engineer :)

hi Timers are driven by synchronous motors. Although the contact part of the timer can be cleaned and adjusted on some dryers, this is a job for a professional repair person. Timer motor repairs should also be handled by a professional, but you can replace a faulty timer yourself. Here's how to test and replace a dryer timer:

Step 1: To access the timer, remove the front of the control panel. On some dryers, the timer can be removed without removing the panel. In either case, pull the timer knob off the shaft and slip off the pointer. The pointer is usually keyed to the shaft by two flat surfaces to keep the pointer from slipping when it's turned.

Step 2: Test the timer with a VOM set to the RX1 scale. Turn the timer to the NORMAL DRY setting and disconnect one of the timer power leads. Some timers may have several wires connected to them: The power leads are usually larger than the other wires, and this size difference can be spotted under close examination. Clip one probe of the meter to each timer terminal. If the meter reads zero, the timer is working. If the needle jumps to a high reading, the timer is faulty and should be replaced. Replace the timer with a new one of the same size and type.

Step 3: To replace the timer, have a helper hold the new timer close to the old one, especially if there are several wires to be changed. Disconnect the old wires one at a time, connecting each corresponding new wire as you work, to make sure the connections are properly made. Or, draw a diagram detailing the proper connections. After all the wires are connected, check the connections again for accuracy.

A dryer that won't heat can't do its job. Learn how to assess heating problems for gas and electric dryers in the next section.
