How old is the set and what kind of TV is it? LCD,plasma, direct view?

- it sounds like you have burn-in. That can't be removed off the screen.

There is a possible way to remove most of the burn in.You need a test disc with a white screen picture.You need to turn on the set and display the white screen for several hours.This procedure helps even out the pixels to help remove the burn in.Any questions please e-mail me.
