Water is infrequently dispensing from our water line on our refrigerator

We are perplexed because suddenly our water line would not give any water. The ice maker still works. Is this a problem that we can fix, and if so what are your suggestions? Thank you!

Ours did the same thing, it ended up leaking from the hose in the back of the fridge it had broke andinstead of the water coming out of the front it was pouring out from the back, we diddnt notice it till the water made it out to the front of the floor. The ice still worked at the time. My husband was able to just cut the hose after the break and hook it back up to the copper hose and we were good. It has happened three times in a few years.

The ice maker and dispenser are on different water valves check your water filter first slowly push in your dispenser paddle and listen for a click then hum look at the bottom of the freezer door after removing the kick plate check to make sure the line there is free and not kinked if all that's ok replace the water valves

Inside filter water dispenser suddenly stopped working. New filter removed and no working with or without filter . Water line is fine. Ice maker works.

Your water line could be frozen in the door. You can disconnect the line under the unit before it goes into the door at the bottom hinge. Push the dispenser button and see if it comes out there. If it does leave the door open till it thaws. Covering the opening with a blanket will prevent the loss of cold in the freezer. . GE makes a heater that will prevent this from happening again. The part number for this heater is WR49X10173.

disconnect the line to the water dispenser at the water inlet valve on the back where the water supply comes in and try the dispenser. if you hear the valve work but water doesn't come out, the valve is bad. If you don't hear the valve, the dispenser switch is bad

My whirlpool suddenly stopped dispensing water.

most fridges stop dispensing water when you open the door. Find the door switch and make sure fridge interior light goes on/off when you manually press door switch. This would show you that the door switch was faulty.

If the water connection to the appliance is one of those watts flood-safe water lines, it may have stuck shut. I've seen this happen when the house water pressure is too high.

Does it still make ice?

If so, then the water connection is good, and either the switch in the water dispenser has failed or the water shutoff valve for the water dispenser has gone bad.

Some models have a problem with the water line getting frozen, such that simply leaving the light on in the water dispenser compartment overnight and/or manually defrosting the unit can get it working again.

Water dispenser is slow

Change out the filter. If it still happens then you have a blockage in the line. Disconnect the line and flush out.
