following this link i've found resetting instructions for this scanner:
1.. Disconnect the USB cable and the power cable from the scanner. Make sure the power cable is still connected to the power source. 2.. Press the Scan and Email buttons at the same time, while plugging the power cable back into the scanner. The scanner will enter a Demo Mode. 3.. Press the Cancel button on the scanner to start the test. 4.. To end the test, disconnect and reconnect the power cable without holding the buttons down.
I've had exactly the same problem with my scanjet 5400c (blue distorted images) but after resetting the scanner (see instuctions posted above) the problem was fixed
Hello, i have changed 2 registry keys. Now my scanner works without warm up, but i don't know, if they are resettet automatically after a period. I have tested this only a few hours and it worked. Please test it.
Key Energy save changed to 1
Key Lamp Off Time changed to 0
