You ;listed it as an Amana, but said it is a GE. I will give you direcions for a GE. If its not, let me know. First, be sure the unit is unplugged and water line is off. Underneith the motor, down right above the belt, you will see 4 nuts that hold the motor to the mounting plate. Remove these nuts, then slide the belt off. Lift the motor slightly, then aim the top of the motor back towards the middle of the unit. Keep tilting and moving the motor backwards until the clutch clears the mounting plate. Slide the motor now towards you and remove. Replace motor following any new instructions that come in the package. Good luck, and let me know if you need further instructions.

Door on ge front loader washer leaks, door gasket is fine. Could it be the lock not working properly

Yes it could be the door lock not pulling the door in enough to make the seal. Solution... Remove covers and with door pressed in hard, ( You may need help ), adjust the lock mechanism to make seal. Put lock-tite on the threads after it works for you. This will prevent the shaking of the washer from losening of the nuts again.

GE WASHER #WHDRR418G1WW DRAINS BUT WON'T AGITATE OR SPIN

Most likely you'll need a new motor, you can check the belt, to see if its attached around the big pulley. To access, you'll need to pop the front cover off the unit, it has two tabs you push in, on the front, where the top lid meets the front cover. Use a flat-head, be careful not to scratch your paint.

You can also, take off your back panel, on the control console, and remove the wiring diagram, you can diagnose this washer yourself, because the motor has a blinking light that will indicate to you, what is going on with your unit, it will tell the problem for you.

Please take a look at this website, about half-way down, as it could also be your lidswitch.

My washer displays nd for not draining after spin cycle and it will not drain out the water I do not know how to get to the drain hose that attaches to drum to check for cloggs

The GE washing machine uses an electric pump. Unlike the older machines pumps that used to be driven by a belt, Then newer washers pumps are driven with an electric motor.
The first thing you need to do is to disconnect the washer from the wall outlet
Next you need to remove the front panel from the washer. To do that you will need to be use a spatula. You need to place the spatula between the front and top panels to compress the two front panel holding clips.
After removing the front panel you need to connect the washer to the wall outlet.
Set the timer on the spin cycle and pull the knob to turn the washer on. Listen to see if you could hear the motor on the pump turning or humming. If the motor hums, that is an indication that something is preventing the pump motor from starting.
Disconnect the washer from the wall outlet, empty the water from the machine (make sure you have plenty of towels to clean any water spills) this connect the hoses from the pump and check the pump for any obstructions.
If the motor on the pump is not running at all, then you'll have to check the pump motor for continuity. If the pump motor checks OK for continuity then you need to check the two wires that connect to the pump to make sure that the timer is sending 120 volts to the pump.
In conclusion, is not that hard to find out why your GE top load washer is not draining. You either have an obstruction, a bad pump or a bad timer.
To check the motor in the electric pump you will need to get the multitester. You won't have to spend a lot of money, just buy a cheap $10.00 analog multitester. Make sure you read the instructions on how to use you multitester to read resistance and voltage.

I need a technical service manual for the GE WDSR2080G3WW washer

If you look in the back of the control panel (usually this is four number 25 torex screws) on the top of the unit....
there is a tech sheet with some basic information. The old style ge had a belt and transmission, the newer stuff has a dc motor with a converter board mounted on top of it which is just one part. You can remove the front panel by pushing in with a putty knife about three inches in on each side at the top and pulling out on the panel while you do this. There is a fuseable link on the neutral side from one side of the plug to the motor you can check Not a solution, but some information on ge washers. Unplug washer before you work on it....

Front loading maytag washer door won't open. Help!!

Remove the lower front panel.Reach up inside near the latch. Feel for a ring tab. Pull it down firmly while pulling on the door.
Then open the cabinet and check all the wire connections in the latch circuit. Check the wax motor ohms. The wax motor probably needs replacing.

Torn gasket on a front load ge washer

Not too hard or technical. I followed John in Erie's instructions:

Replacing gasket is fairly simple - need 2 people. UNPLUG FIRST - 1. Remove the plastic cover on top of machine that is mounted to back of control panel. 2. remove dispenser - push down on tab at back and it will slide all the way out. 3. Remove lower front cover by removing 3 screws holding it on bottom. 4. Remove 3 screws holding top panel on back of machine and slide cover back approximately 1 inch and lift off. 5. Remove the 3 screws that hold the control panel on - note these are different type of screw so keep track of which screw goes where - one of the screws is next to dispenser opening. Once this is done you can reach in to machine and disengage locking tab on right side under "washer temp" - have someone hold this part aside if you do not want to disconnect the cables. 6. Remove spring loaded wire securing door seal to front cover. 7. Remove the the 4 screws holding the front cover on. This item is a bit heavy so be careful. Disconnect the three door latch wire harness and place this aside. 8. On the right side of the gasket you will find the clamp screw that holds the seal to the drum - loosen this screw almost all the way and remove this wire clamp. carefully remove the two tube connections and remove the gasket completely. Take note how these were installed before removing. Now you can carefully clean the gasket seats on the drown and door and replace the gasket and reverse the steps to put the machine together. While you have the covers off it would make sense to remove and clean the pump strainer mounted on the lower cross support - this can be messy with lots of water coming out so go slowly and have plenty of towels and a shallow pan to catch the water with. HOPE this helps.

I bought my part at Appliance Zone. From what I paid and how long it took to get to me, I should have just bought it locally for a little more and had it delivered a lot sooner. Replacement took an hour and a half.
