Question about Dryers
I have a series 90 dryer, that I have taken the lower front off to gain access to the dryer motor. I then took the plate off that is in front of the dryer motor. I was hoping that the drive belt was broken, but I can reach behind the motor and tug on the belt. The belt is still attatched, but I can't see if it is in a bind. There is a humming noise when the dryer switch is turned on and the dryer drum will only move a fraction, I then turn the dryer off b/c I am afraid of burning the motor up.
Dryer wont start i hold the button in and timmer tiks but wont start

I hae to say it, but it sounds like the motor has already gone out. That loud humming noise is usually the start windings going out. There is no other way easily to tell if the motor is out, but taking the belt off and saying it doesnt look broke what work in this situation. I would imagine that you have a DOTT (Dryer Of Tommorrow, Today) dryer, because you said it had the front panel. The motor part number is 279787 if this the case. Good Luck, and let me know if you find out any new information or need further help.
