I have to keep resetting the wireless mouse to get it to work. Then, if the mouse isn't moved for a minute or to the red light goes out and the reset button has to be pressed again to turn the red light back on again. I've tried resetting the transmitter. keyboard, and mouse but the mouse still shuts down after a minute or two. I used another identical mouse from my other computer and it works fine. I tried using the bad mouse on another computer and the mouse performs the same and must be reset to make the red light come on again. It apears that the problem must be in the bad mouse. Is there anything else I can do to fix this problem or just replace it?

It looks as if the mouse is kaput, as it does the same on another computer, and the other mouse works fine on this computer..

How do I get the mouse to work?

I am assuming this is a wireless mouse??? If so, there is a RESET button on the bottom of most wireless devices. Try that first. Also check the batteries (if this is a wireless) even though the light is on.
Good Luck.

Wireless mouse does not work after changing batteries.it always has in the past The Dell computer and mouse is probably 8 years old but has always worked.

Try moving the mouse receivers usb plug in to another port. Unplug any new devices and restart computer. Then replug in any new usb devices.
If still not working.......
Look at Office Depot and other office stores for a replacement wireless mouse. I have seen them as low a $9.99 on up. You might even want to upgrade and get a wireless mouse and keyboard set.

Microsoft wireless notebook laser mouse 6000 not working

I have a miscrosoft wireless laser mouse 6000, and it also stopped working on my laptop. I changed the battery, still no workie. I tested the battery in another device, and it was good. I moved the mouse to another computer, and it did not work. The light on the usb connector was lit. [No changes at all to my laptop.]. It seemed like there was no power to the mouse, and I looked at the contacts inside the mouse. The contact just inside the mouse's opening for the battery appeared to be bent down (away from the contact on the battery tray). So, I pulled it up a little so it would connect when the battery drawer closed, and (after tweaking it a couple of times), it finally worked!

I have a logitech wireless mouse. Mouse keeps sticking.

Did you try repairing the mouse with the receiver? During battery change it might have lost its pairing information.

Cursor runs all over the screen w/o moving hp wireless mouse

Your mouse could be defective, but let's try a few things first. Try to remove any wireless devices close to it (i.e. wireless router)or try to plug it in a new USB port. Last thing try to use a very dark mousepad. The laser respond to reflection so any white on a mousepad combined with some sun light could result in a free for all mouse pointer.

Wireless mouse wont connect.

Hi there.
Some wireless mice seem to go into some kind of sleep mode, in other words if you leave them for an amount of time they disconnect, the way to reconnect is to right click while moving the mouse.
Also check to make sure that the batteries in the mouse are seated properly.

Good luck

Wireless mouse locks up

I would suggest investing in a USB mouse. They never have this problem and are very cheap to buy. I have found that wireless mice are prone to problems. I would say there is a problem in the connection between your mouse and the laptop but this sort of problem is quite hard to find. As I said, you are better off with USB mouse.

Mouse drawing to much power dances all over the screen

Make sure you don't have any bluetooth devices activated near your wireless mouse or it will keep making it move all over the screen, killing the batteries. After bluetooth devices are disabled, take the batteries out and leave the mouse sitting for awhile without the batteries in their to let it reset for a fresh start. Them put them back in and see if it works. If it still does not work, un-install and re-install the software that came with it.

First, change your batteries. Next, make sure that after you push both link buttons (try to press them as close to simultaneously as you can) that you click the mouse button. Otherwise it won't actually link.
