Nothing is working in my oven not even the led timer is lighting up

When the timer, clock etc didn't light up my oven stopped working. Replaced the clock display unit and all is now fine. A simple switch over just remove one wire at a time and place it on the new unit, the only difficult part was gaining access to remove the display unit itself.

Oven digital lighted display is dim

You need to replace the C3 capacitor on the control board

http://fixitnow.com/wp/2009/01/28/cheap-fix-for-a-dim-display-on-an-oven-control-panel/

You can replace only the C3 - it is 68uF / 35V and you can go to Radio Shack and get their part # 272-1028 - 100uF/35V one. It takes all but 10 minutes to re-solder the new one in place

Dim numbers but oven seems to be working ok

A replacement clock unit is available but costs $150-200 and is rather simple to replace - I've replaced mine twice in the past 5 or so years. The original and replacement both began to dim at 3-4 years and eventually became so dim they were unreadable.

Someone here, I believe, suggested that one or more of the capacitors may have became defective due to the high temperatures above the oven. Replacements for the four suspect capacitors were very reasonably priced but it was difficult locating appropriate high-temprature capacitors.

The only trick to removing and replacing the clock unit is the ribbon connector on the clock circuit board. There are very small plastic ears or tabs at the extreme ends of the connector. Press toward the center of the connector and pull away from the board (about 1/8") to release the ribbon cable.

Replacing capacitors C3, 4, & 7 is straight forward EXCEPT the circuit traces are prone to pull from the board (use as little heat as possible, wick as much solder as possibe before trying to dislodge the capacitors, and watch polarity). C1 a BIG challenge since the solder side is under the display assembly. I used a VOM to locate alternate connecting points on the component side of the board and just let the leads support C1.

Total repair time was about 1-2 hours and savings around $150 - AND it now works perfectly.

Clock/oven/temp screen for a Jenn-Air electronic range #SVE87600

I believe Jenn Air will pay a portion or electronic parts replacement on their ranges less than 5 years old.
You might try unplugging the stove for 1 hour and this is supposed to reset the stove to factory settings

Clock display board

Replacing capacitor C3 on the clock board will correct the dimming problem. I will cost you about $2 for the part. Replacing the board does the same thing just with a higher price tag. Unfortunately, tt sounds like you may have a bad "new" board if this problem happened as soon as you put it in.

When I had the dim display problem with mine, the oven still heated up, chimed at temp, etc -- you just couldn't see the numbers. My wife didn't like it, so I fixed it. If your old board works like mine did even though the display is dark, you could try replacing the noted capacitor and see what happens.

I hope this helps.

Jenn- Air SCE30600B

It's a bad capacitor on the clock/display board. The solution was posted elsewhere in FixYa. I had the same problem and was told I should replace the clock/display board, which would solve the problem, but costs about $150 plus labor. If you can desolder/solder small components on an electronic circuit board, you can fix this yourself. Mine was capacitor C3, originally a 68uF 35V component. I replaced it with a 68uF 63V as the closest one I could find at Jameco.com which was less than a $1. Lo and behold, my clock/display is back to normal! Saved a lot of money to fix it myself and I know it will happen again over time, so I know exactly what to do next time.

Dim Digital Display

Connie P, Unfortunately it is not possible to make the display brighter. The only solution is to replace the entire clock/timer. The price for the part is less then a hundred dollars and if you will give me the complete model number and a color, I can help you to find the best deal. Gendos...post back
