Sometimes with these units the buttons on the base go bad but the whole system still works. Try picking up the handset and accessing your messages remotely by pressing Menu, and then pressing Select which will appear as an LCD button option on your LCD Screen

Need to retrive messages from another location

The KX-TGA106 isn't an answering machine and hence doesn't record any messages to be retrieved from any location. Please repost your question, being sure to specify the make and model of the answering machine.

I erased message that was on answering machine and can not figure out how to get a message back on the machine I do not understand what is written in the Uniden owners manual Please simplify the directions...

There is nothing a consumer can do to retrive the message. Retrieving such messages are almost impossible. I would not say there is no way since it may be possible, but this would not be something that the general public could have done at this time. There may be agencies that could retrieve the message, such as the FBI, but your local electronics shop would have the needed tools to make such a recovery

Retriving messages remotely

Hi Ern, Usually the phone has a default code you dial when you attempt to get messages from your home answering machine.
Try calling your home, let the machine pick up, after your message is heard dial 1234. Your machine should recognize the tones and play your mesages back to you. I just happened to read that earlier today while setting up a new message on our office phone.
Hope this helps, RadioWidgets

Voice mail issue

Here is what is suppose to happen. Once you leave a message at Rogers, they are to send your phone a "stutter dial tone" signal back to your phone. When you phone gets this signal, it is to light your messag light. So we need to figure out if Rogers is sending the signal, and if your light is working. So, leave yourself a message. Give Rogers a minute or two to send the signal. Pick up your phone to make a call. Do you hear a "stuttery" type dial tone? If not, it sounds as if the Rogers system is not providing the signal. Okay, if your light is not on, then lets test the light by taking the Rogers VM out of the equation. Go to your Panasonic answering machine menu, and turn it on, then turn the number of rings set to 1, and save that. Now call the phone. It should answer after a ring or two, and your call should never make it to Rogers AM. Leave a message and see if your Panasonic answering machine takes the message and lights the light. If it does not light the light even though your message was recorded and saved, then you may have a bad light. If it lights the light, go back into your menu and turn the machine off, and look for any settings regarding using the "telephone company voice mail" or review your message light settings, etc. Hope this helps
