174: Fatal Error

Printer suddenly stop working. The screen displays the following message:
Sevice Call 174: Fatal Error.

ApprenticeI have the same problem. I had some ghosting on my pages before I got the error and turned off and turned on and it worked for a little then got ghosting again and then the error.
The technichian told me it was the fuser unit in the back. It is simple to replace, just like a drum, you pull it out and put the new one in. You can find them fairly inexpensive but check your warranty. This model comes with a one year warranty and that fuser should fall under warranty.
