FRIDGE KEEPS GOING WARM

'regulator'? Do you mean the thermostat? Modern fridge freezer thermostats don't make any noise because they are electronic and use a Thermistor electronic sensor. Is the compressor and fan running? It takes about 2 hours to get back to temperature. The control knob should always be set midway to start, then you adjust +/- depending on the internal temperature..

possible main supply power cuts have tripped the circuits when going away for extend periods of time always reduce the quantity of perishable foods to the bare minimum to prevent excess loss or have a responsible person check the fridge operation at regular intervals

It is very likely the defrost element has failed so it will just ice up in the back where you cannot see. Maybe switch it off for 24 hours and see if a lot of ice melts and then restart.

What happens in that 72 hours is the evaporator coil get's so much frost built up on it that the fan in the evap. freezer fan has no where to circulate the cold air (where the cold is produced). Basically you have a restriction between freez/fridg. sections you have defrost problem> It is one of three things d heater,d t stat, or your d timer.I need the model # to tell you what my sugestions would be and where to start.

My advice would be to go for a new one as the product you are holding is more than 8 years old. Although, obviously new is going to be a little on the expensive side as compared to getting this one fixed but technology has moved a long way in the last 8 years. Thus, your current Freezer is going to consume more electricity and even after being repaired, the performance shall not be optimal. While, the new Refrigerator not only is going to be Lessen your electricity bill but shall be a better choice both in terms of Style, Structure, Optimization and Performance.

Is this a self defrost model? Frost inside the freezer could be an air leak around the door gasket. Remove the back panel in the freezer and completely defrost the coils. Is the fan running in the freezer. That will make the frig not be cool. With the door closed peek in the gasket to make sure the light is shutting off, this will warm a frig also.

the problem is going to more then likely in the main control board which is on the back of the refrigerator in a little compartment this board is bad about going out if you have power surges or outages

Generally when your fridge stops cooling and your freezer also is having diminished function, it is an indication either your compressor is going bad, or you need freon. I would suggest having a repair person come check out the unit as soon as possible to prevent further food loss.
