Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Washing machine banging.

I dont over load it. I think it is something to do with the macanics of the control dial. I am also having a problem with trying to remove the top of the machine, so i can have a look inside. What tool do i need to remove what looks like two screws from the back of the lid. Is it an allen key? Please help.

I will need the model number and brand name.
Is it a front loader or top?
The bearings wear and cause this sometimes.
It could also be off balance.
Check with a level. Put it on top of the machine and see if it level.

I am trying to find more information about the Bosch machines, so far all I have come up with is in another language, I think german.
If you do a search online, there are Bosch parts and manuals.
If it does need repair, it may take special tools that homeowners don't normally have.
If you really want to do it yourself, then I may be able to find a repair manual. The other option is to locate a repairman closest to you from this website.

Hi, I have a frigidare affinity front load washing machine and when it is running a cycle it sounds like the drum is banging around in the machine. It's a new noise, did something come loose? What

Hello gen0313 - From what you are describing it sounds like the unit could possibly have a broken shock/bearing or damaged tub. A certified technician will need to accurately diagnosis the bearing and pulling system behind the drum for repairs.

Front Loader Model #FWT449G5S00 banging on spin cycle. One bottem shock snapped replaced with new shock kit (twice) still bangs. At first I thought bang ( out of balance problem) was because of the broken...

The bearings on the drum may be going bad or the counter weight may be broken off or missing or heavy unbalanced loads. Reach inside and try lifting up on the interior drum. If it moves up and down or you feel any popping I would say the bearings are going bad. They usually make a lot more noise on the spin cycle also. Similar to an airplane taking off.
Hope this helps.

Ul on dial. unbalanced load on small load

just that! You need to rearrange the cloths to put the balance back in the drum. If its wobbly it will make a noice a banging sound or squealing sound.

The hot/cold water fill solenoid might be stuck open.  Try banging on it lightly with a hammer and if that doesn't loosen it, replace it.

Boom and Bang Washing Machine

Bed sheets or comforters will often get out of balance in the spin cycle or during the rinse cycle. Throw some towels in there next time at least 5 big ones. They are engineered to take a little of this banging, it should only happen once in a while.
