I'm going to go out on a limb and predict that you have never tried a 4GB card in this camera before.

After looking at the manual, this camera, a 2001 product, would seem to be from a time when 1GB cards were still off in the future, and 4GB cards were not even conceivable.

So that you know, the manual refers to a 160MB card as the highest option available at the time, but I have to think that 64MB was considered a large card back then.

The link for the manual is: http://www.nikonusa.com/pdf/manuals/coolpix/CP775man.pdf

The page I'm referring to is page 154 (which is actually page 168 of the pdf document).

I suggest you contact Nikon and ask for an update to the compatible flash cards for this camera and find a 256MB or 512MB that someone has lying around.

How do I get my nikkon coolpix 2100 to accept a 4 mb compact flash?

Hi,

Are you sure it is 4 MB or GB ? If your Compact Card is 4 MB, it may not be possible for the Camera to Accept it as the Picture file size are big so the least you need to use is 1 GB Card.

For more details, Check Page 10 on the manual. Click on the link below to download the manual for your camera.

I own a Nikon Coolpix 5700 and recntly I face a problem with the memory card, The memory card is Nikon Compact Flash 32MB and the camera shoes that I can have Basic 51 photoes, Noraml 26 Fine 13 and Hi...

Nikon Coolpix 5700 Digital Camera memory card failure:

This camera has capabilities which far exceed the data storage of a 32 MB memory card. Put what you can onto the Nikon Compact Flash card and purchase another, larger, 2 GB card for your other storage. This should easily meet both the needs of the camera and your own. The original card must have had data deterioration or a mistake was made in transferring the pictures.

Go to Google and download their Picasa App; it is great for anyone transferring their photography from one storage type to another and you can use it for publishing material to the Web or to your family group e-mail.

Will by Nikon Coolpix 5700 support a 4 GB compact flash card ??? thanks

Your camera uses CF type I or II cards. Since it was first introduced in 2002 I believe it has no support for 4GB cards. But since it's a 5MB camera, you can get some 500 frames on one 2GB card. Just need to pack some more of those for a photo-safari.

Put a new 4gig card in as I lost the old 1

I verified that I cannot format my 4 GB cards in the Coolpix 5700. This camera simply cannot use large memory cards. You should get a 1 GB card for this camera (I verified that 1 GB cards do work).

I received a new Compact Flash card (4GB) for my Nikon and when I put it in the camera it says out of memory?

If there are any pics in the internal memory, you need to get rid of them. With no card in the camera, download any you want to save and then go into the menu and find "format"...follow the instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert the new card and do the "format" thing again.

Nikon 4300 CF Card Erro

The Nikon Coolpix 4300 only supports the FAT16 filesystem, so it can only support a 2GB partition. To support 4GB you need a FAT32 filesystem.
Put the card in a CF writer and attached to a PC or Mac. Partition 2x2GB partitions, then format them as FAT16. Now put it into the Coolpix 4300 and it should work.

Can't change nikon 5700 to Hi resolution

Is the compact flash card full, or close to it? If you don't have another CF card, see if there is a bad pic you can delete. Or maybe 2. Hint: anything out of focus. ;)

COOLPIX 5700

Nikon approved CompactFlash memory cards up to 256MB in size for the 5700. The 5700 may be able to handle cards as large as 1GB, but I haven't tested this personally. When this camera was introduced in 2002, 256MB was a really big card. Many older cameras can't handle the 2GB, 4GB and larger cards we're seeing today.
