Hmmm..that's a little weird...can you boot to the main screen? you may have a small issue with the boot sequence. Can you boot from a CD with no problem? Sounds like an operating system error.

so, you're computer works fine, but can't see the U2 device? have you tried all your USB ports? There is a small chance that the device may be compromised, by ESD(electrostatic discharge) comes from handling it sometimes.

I am currently on a school computer. My SanDisk Cruzer 8gb would not run. I recently added a password on it and it has worked before. The U3 system would not auto-run and I have tried running it manually...

> currently on a school policy.

The school's Computer Systems Administrator may have installed a "Group Policy" setting that tells Windows to *NOT* allow USB-devices (iPod, iPad, flash-drives, external disk-drives) to be allowed to be used. It's a good way of preventing computer-viruses from getting onto the school's computers.

If your SanDisk works correctly on your own computer, then use your own computer.

2gb micro cruzer causing the pc to restart

Do you have another USB device which you can use to check if it will come up with the same problem? There are 3 things which could cause it to freeze and restart. It could be a problem with the software device driver needed to detect the USB micro cruzer, the USB port itself or it's the USB micro cruzer. One good thing worth to try is plugging your USB micro cruzer on another computer to check if the problem will also occur there. If it does, then it's isolated to the USB device. If there's no other computer available, 1) Try to run an anti-virus and anti-spyware scan on your computer, 2) start up your computer on safe mode and try to check if it'll occur there as well. 3) If it doesn't occur under safe mode and your able to access your USB device, try to run an anti-virus and anti-spyware scan on your USB device to check for problems there. 4) If all else fails, then it could be a problem with the USB device. hope this helps.
