Sansa fuze will not turn on

I have a Sansa Fuze purchased December14 and I have used it only 3 times, charging it twice. From the beginning i noticed that the charge doe not last long. Yesterday it would not turn on so i connected it with the cable that came with it to my PC and it does not charge. It does not turn on while the connection is intact.
I have held the on button for 20 seconds, as suggested by the site troubleshooting techs, and nothing happens, whether still connected or not to the computer.
Do I have a lemon? I hope no because last week i threw away the receipts. Thanks, Jaime

This will happen if the battery is drained below the min. operation voltage.
To bypass the problem = Press and hold the ON button and the Play Button ( >||) for 20 seconds it should override the low voltage and power-up

I recently purchased a Sansa Clip MP3. I downloaded audiobooks to it but they will not play. What do I need to do?

Not true!!! The Sansa Clip is actually the best mp3 player I have found for listing to audiobooks. Here is what you need to do. Download the latest firmware update on the Sandisk website. You must do this or it just won't work unless you are downloading books from Audible.

I use the Overdrive Media Console and download mp3 and WMA books from my state library. When you hit transfer, be sure it hit advanced options. Browse until you select the audiobook folder on your player. Then transfer to that.

The player will bookmark your last place on anything that is in your audiobook folder. You can easily switch back and forth between your music and book without losing your place! Love it!

It even has a sleep timer on it. I'm in heaven.

My Sansa Fuze 4gb wont turn on and isnt being recognized by my computer, iv also tried to soft reset it many times , nothing seems to work.. help plz..

I've had the same problem with my Sansa Fuze 2GB. It's pretty frustrating, but in order to get it to work, I let it sit without touching it or doing anything with it for a few days. For 2-5 days, do not turn on your Sansa Fuze. After the amount of time has passed, try the soft reset again.

Sansa Fuze went dead after charging; dropped about 18'' onto carpet earlier, but saw no problem until after charging.

sansa fuze mp3 players are notoriously pieces of ****. they malfunction randomly, and most of the time, unfortunately, cannot be fixed. i have experienced this first hand. even though it's actually a problem with their software, or the hardware in it. my advice is seek third party repair help.

First battery charge after purchase

I would charge the Fuze fully before first use, actually this is what is recommended. You'll know when it is finished, as you will get a full green battery icon displaying.
The players are not fully charged when first shipped.
