Question about Canon LaserClass LC 8500 Plain Paper Fax
To change the paper pickup roller in the cassette. Remove the paper cassette completely and look for the rollers and squeeze the end tabs at the end if the roller and pull. When replacing them just slide in the new roller and squeeze the tabs and line up the key on the roller shaft and carefull push in.
To change the document feeder will require more skill. first lift up the document feeder and carefully push a black plastic linkage limiting the lift of the feeder towards the back of the machine and lift.
Next look at the bottom black plastic feeder you will see 2 screws at the far end. Unscrew and lift up. You will need to remove the e clip from the large pickup roller and rotate a white bushing and push back and lift the roller away. insert the new roller and assemble using the reverse steps.
To change the upper seperation roller. Lift up the keyboard and remove 2 black screws from the bottom and separate it. Remove 4 silver screws holding the roller assembly. Remove 1 silver screw from the copper grounding strap.Remove 2 silver e clips from the balck blue roller and replace. Reassembe in reverse order. The link above getsyou the wrong model.
