There are a total of eight folders in the recorder that are in a tree format. Under the “Root” folder are “Folder A” through “Folder E”, “Audible” and “Music” folders, and recorded or transferred Language and music data from a computer can be saved as “files”. “Folder A” through “Folder E” are voice-recording folders, so choose one of these five folders when recording on this recorder. Up to 200 files can be saved in each folder, and up to two layers can be created within the “Music” folders.
Why don’t you try another usb cable? Or you could try transferring via Bluetooth as well. From the message, 'unexpected error has occurred in communication' you can see that the device providing the communication between phone and PC, i.e. cable is not functioning well. That is why even when you switch from port to port the problem persists.
Resetting the Recorder (CLEAR)
This function resets the current time and other settings to their initial
status. It is useful if you are having problems with the recorder, or if you
want to erase the entire memory of the recorder.
1 Hold the STOP button, and hold the ERASE button for 3
seconds or longer.
2 Press the FF or REW button to select the “YES”.
3 Press the PLAY button.
try to move the files to a new folder one at a time then transfer... to move the files press play to play the file, then hold folder button down for 1 second, then press + button to select folder, then enter to move... but do this one at a time because one of the files may be corrupted
All files should be set for transfer when using the Olympus software. There is a way you can check folder B in my computer by locating the program folder where the olympus software resides. If folder B is empty, the recording could have landed in A, C, or D folder.
the computer not support the file format. use DSS player to convert the file format to wav and then to any other audio format. or use the SONY LAS VEGAS 7.0 OR 8.0 to convert it into required format.
best of luck.
