1. you can manually go to computer window right click on each partition and and select format it will prompt more boxes and just click on ok or continue. 2. you can also set your computer back to its defaults by accessing the acer recovery management console, most manufacturer placed pre-installed apps on programs list, but you can also do it a manually be restarting the computer and keep tapping on f6 until you reach the console page 3. you can also use the original disc to restore back to defaults :)
Your computer's BIOS screen can be incredibly useful when
you need to make certain hardware or system configurations.
How to access the BIOS on your laptop varies from
manufacturer to manufacturer and model to model.
Even though Acer laptops are created by the same
manufacturer, not all models access BIOS in the same manner.
While accessing the BIOS setup screen in and of itself is
not difficult all you need to do is press a key the difficulty is in figuring
out which key to hit.
Restart or power on the laptop.
Hit the "Pause/Break" key the moment the Acer
boot screen (not the OS start-up screen) appears.
If the OS start-up screen appears before you can hit
Pause/Break, you will need to restart the laptop.
Press "F2" or "Del" to access the BIOS
Depending on the age of your Acer laptop, you may need to
instead press "Ctrl," "Alt" and "Esc"
simultaneously to access BIOS.
Using the arrow keys navigate failsafe or optimized defaults
press F10 to safe to cmos and exit to restart.
There are two reasons for computer to get restarted
1 operating system issue
2 hardware issue
to identify the problem
leave your acer laptop on bios screen if it is restarting in the bios screen which means it is a hardware issue however if it doesn't restart in bios it is an operating system issue
To fix xp incert the xp disk, boot the cmputer from cd, in the first screen press enter, then F8 for license agreement and then letter R to repair, the process will take approx. 1 hr and the computer will start working normal
The best way to check if the computer can access to Internet is to boot
the computer to "Safemode with Netwroking", to do so, restart the
computer and as soon as it restarts keep on tapping F8 key, now select
"Safemode with Networking" from the Advance boot menu. Try to connect to
internet. If you are able to connect to Internet then the issue is with
the firewall on you computer, contact the firewall manufacture or
do settings. If you are still unable to connect to Internet, then the
internet setting are not correct, you may need to contact the ISP or try reseeting the Internet Explorer.
If the computer was "new" and was shipped with Vista installed, the manufacturer probably "designed" the computer for Vista, and did not create/include device-drivers for Windows XP.
So, trying to install XP will not work.
So, insert the Microsoft Vista CD-ROM (the one shipped with the computer, not a CD-ROM purchased from a retail store, nor borrowed from a friend), and boot from it, and reinstall Vista.
What manufacturer/model of laptop? Some manufacturers will ship you a set of CDs/DVDs to replace the ones that were shipped with the new computer.
you can try one thing.. if you got windows xp cd with you restart the computer and change the BIOS setting (first device cd/dvd rom) put the xp cd in run with cd go to xp recovery and try to repair it. it will definitely work
its visto computer only way to downgrade it to xp is to look for your drivers used in vista from manufacturers site to collect xp drivers. do get the drivers names u can use the acer download page to see what drivers for xp is needed.
