When I insert a VHS it will play for about 6 seconds and then it ejects the tape and the machine turns completely off.

I have checked to make sure a timer wasn't set and can't seem to find any reason for this. It has been working fine and then about 2 weeks ago started doing this.

I have the same model, I put a VCR tape into it, it whirls for a short time, then the unit turns off. Once the machine is turned on again, the tape ejects.

It never displays a picture. The DVD part works fine.

I have the same problem. I've gone so far as to open the VCR/DVD player and see if any of the components are loose. I can't find anything that "looks" out of the ordinary. The VHS goes in, it plays for six seconds, the player turns off. When the player is turned back on, the tape is ejected. Is there anything that I can do to fix this? Or does it need to be taken in for repairs? Or would it better to replace the unit?

Same problem. The unit was working fine the last time I used which was about 2 weeks ago. I turned it on today to play a video and after about 6 seconds it shuts down.

Well sounds like one of the players is not in correct spot thus shuts down (kinda timing issue) see if there is anything preventing it from going jiggle or turn upside down see if you hear anything.

I need code(s) for my DVD Video, Model #: NB093 remote control to program my Philips DVD Player/VCR, Model #: DVP3345V/17. Can you please help me? I would greatly appreciate it. Here is a picture of it.

http://remotecodelist.com/remotes/magnavox/magnavox.htm lists the code for your device as possibly being 1000, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, or 1005. Of course, you also have the option of using the remote controller's "Code Search" button. 25300580-iv4burzhkawezvl2jbah1xae-2-0.jpg With Codes:
Turn on the DVD/VCR unit directly. Continue to depress the remote controller's "Code Search" button for about ten seconds, release, & the light on the remote controller should stay on. Enter the four-digit code (1000, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, or 1005) for the DVD/VCR unit. The remote controller's light should go off. Press the remote controller's power button, & when the DVD/VCR unit turns off, then you will know that the remote controller has been correctly programmed.

Without Codes:

With the DVD/VCR unit on, continue to depress the remote controller's "Code Search" button for about ten seconds, release, & the light on the remote controller should stay on. Continue to tap the remote controller's UP or DOWN channel button ONLY UNTIL the DVD/VCR unit responds. Then, press the power button on the remote controller once the channel has changed. If the DVD/VCR unit shuts off, then press the power button again to turn it back on. If the DVD/VCR unit turns on, then the remote controller has been correctly programmed. Otherwise, repeat this whole process until the remote controller is correctly programmed.

Just hooked up my new Magnavox DV220MW9 DVD Player ? VCR Recorder. I was able to set the time and a vcr timer program but now I can't switch the source. It now comes on as the DVD but neither the remote...

You need to release the timer to access the VCR. Press the Timer Set button on the remote or the Stop/Eject button on the recorder. Then press the VCR button.

Please note: the scheduled recording will not run as programmed unless you press the Timer Set on the remote again. (The timer locks the VCR until the scheduled ON time.) The DVD player is controlled separately and becomes the default unit.

I hope this helps.

Dvd/vcr unit will not stay on

Sounds like you are having an internal electronical problem. It is most likely the capacitors inside the power supply. You can either replace the capacitors if you are good with electronics, otherwise you will have to replace the power supply. You can search around on google to find another one.
