I have the same problem as JLClair, except I can't log into the router's IP address; my power light started flashing when I tried to upgrade the latest firmware. Seemed like the router got stuck on the upgrading part of the firmware. Everything was working fine until I tried the firmware upgrade.

That router should have a small hole on the back of the router
(near the power plug, I believe) with a button inside. Use a paperclip
to hold that button down for 5 to 10 seconds, then reset the power to
the router, and it should be back to it's defaults.
If that doesn't work, the firmware is probably corrupted, and there's not a whole lot you can do about it.

Lets see if this works out for ya. 1. In your browser go to http://192.168.1.1 2. The user will be "admin" and the password field leave it blank 3. Go to the Setup Tab 4. On WAN Connection Type make sure it is set to "Obtain an IP Automatically" 5. Go to the DHCP tab and make sure it is enabled 6. Unplug the Roadrunner modem and the Linksys Router. 7. Wait around 15-30 seconds 8. Plug the Roadrunner modem in and wait until all the lights except the ethernet/computer connection are on. 9. When they are all on plug the Linksys router power back in 10. Wait around 30 seconds and see if your getting a connection Otherwise get back to me. Good luck.
access your router with ip.
open internet explorer if your defualt router ip is :192.168.0.1 type this http://192.168.0.1 in addres bar in IE. then neter username admin and password aslo admin
if not accepr blnk user name and passowrd is admin.
then go to ssytem then set ip and follow the procedure.
What is you modem? Who is the ISP? First you have to check if the
internet is working when your pc is connected to the Ethernet port of
the modem and not the USB port if there is any. check the ip address of
the pc connected to the modem and make sure that the DEFAULT GATEWAY is
not the same as 192.168.1.1. if the address is the same you have
to change the linksys router ip address from 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.2.1.
set the internet connection type of the linksys to obtain an ip. then save it.
switch off the linksys router then connect the modem to the WAN /
INTERNET port. Plug the power adapter back in then wait for
the lights to be stable. please note that the power light must be solid
green. if it's blinking it's bye-bye to the router.
lastly check the internet if it's working.
Before you can get online through the router all you need to do is change the Linksys router's IP address. Because the westell and the linksys has the same range of IP address that creates a conflict on your network that's why you can't get online.
First login to the setup page of your linksys router.
Under the Setup Tab (this is the first screen that you will see after typing in the linksys router's password.) make sure that the Internet connection type is set to Automatic Configuration- DHCP, Then on the same page look for router IP address or LAN IP address. By default its 192.168.1.1, you need to change it to 192.168.2.1. And hit save settings. You will get disconnected from the linksys page, that is normal. If you want to log back in to the router page you use the new address of your linksys (192.168.2.1).
Now you restart your computer to refresh the connection and that should get you online.

This is an old router. Look at the power light. You must have a STEADY power light. RESET the BEFW11s4 by pushing the reset button for 30seconds. Unplug the power of the BEFW11s4 for 30 seconds. Connect pc to port 2 or 3. pc should get an ip of 192.168.1.x. If you are getting this ip that means that the pc is already detecting the router.
Have you tried a hard reset? Your model has a small reset button at the rear between the Internet/WAN connection and one of the antennas (Press for 10 seconds +).
Also flashing power led is an indicator of firmware problem which might have been caused by a failed firmware upgrade/update. Instruction on how to correct this problem is also included in the firmware upgrade/update. A more detailed instruction is in the User Manual.
With regards to firmware update/upgrade , pls be reminded that firmware is very version specific. To locate the version number, you have to look underneath the unit and download the appropriate firmware from LinkSys website. The download is a zip file which you have to extract to a folder. The .bin file plus instructions as well as specific instructions on how to make the power led stop flashing.
